Default Rear End Suggestions. My mind could be playing tricks.

I am picking up my car from the body shop today. I was in a major accident and finally getting it back after the rear end was reconstructed.

I feel like I am missing something in the rear. It seems like the rear bumper gets tucked behind the rear tires as you move towards the front from behind the rear tire. I want it to extend a little bit outward and downward so that it goes with the rest of the lines. Just minor accents if possible.

Any suggestions on what to possibly get? I am running a stock rear bumper with a carbon fiber cowling that was on it (this is what the body shop found and used to help accent rather than just going with an OEM rear bumper).

Am I just paranoid?

All comments (positive and negative) would be appreciated.

that's a really aggressive front bumper (GTR style, with hard sharp and angular lines),a subtle nismo sideskirt (with rounded curvy softer lines), then bland rear (wald? curvy round), flat wing, and i dunno what to call that hood.. its got a hard corner ridge bump but then curved openings with louvers... all on a convertible. also perhaps its the the blacked out center piece on the nose, but it looks like it has fangs.

this would be difficult to sort out.. suggestions would be ditch the hood, get square/flat slideskirts like Style King or INGS+1 sides, and do a kenstyle G35 rear bumper custom job...

make take picts with the top down..

Thanks for the suggestive criticism and explaining it well. I understand what you mean by the various line styles not blending together. The front end of the car came that way when I bought it. I was meaning to change it up but then got into accident and my car was gone for a year (yes.. a year).

I was never a fan of the hood but never had time to do anything about it until now. Found it very aggressive and the "scoop" was a little out of place. Right now its all I have to work with. (unless I can find a buyer).

I really liked the GTR front end compared to a lot of the other aftermarket front bumper configurations that I had seen pictures of. I think that it is aggressive but still subtle.

I will take some pics with the top down when I get some time.

Not feeling the front bumper. My idea of aggressive but subtle would be the Amuse front or even the Nismo V3 front.

I also agree that the hood needs to go and you should get square/flat sideskirts. But if you want to keep the sides you have, they would go nicely with a Nismo V2 or V3 front.

I know a lot of people have the Nismo look, but it's not common to see it on a convertible. At least for me it isn't!

As for the rear bumper, I don't have any problems with it. Probably because it's similar to mine.

I would for sure lose the hood ..go for a more aggressive side skirt and rear bumper to make it flow right. I think over all its a good looking car its just the hood is such an eye sore. But what it comes down to is what you like and not if we throw up looking at it or not.

Any suggestions for hoods? Oem? I definitely want something that can have carbon fiber accents since the rear has that same look.

Here I come asking for rear end suggestions and the tables have now turned asking about front end/bumper suggestions. Haha. Thats life.

hah, it's because your front end stands out way more than the rest of the car, on top of the fact that you have more pics of the front end.

if your really into all the vents and stuff so you can two tone go for the z33 hood it has the vents but does howl a big cowl lump in the middle.

Just looked at pictures of the Nismo V3 front bumper.
http://www.aitracing.com/index.php?m...image&pID=1806

I must say that I am not a fan. It adds too much of a round shape and extends the front to a point like shape that I dont like (hard to explain). I like the "flatter" look of this GTR front bumper. Also I like the larger open front area and side area on the GTR. Bumper and side skirts are both from AIT. Here is the same bumper, side skirt combo on a blue hardtop (different hood..not sure what kind though):
http://www.aitracing.com/index.php?m...oducts_id=1792

My current hood is the AIT Racing R1-series hood.

Will do some research on the Z33 hood and others that are out there. I want one that doesnt require pins and hooks up and opens like the regular OEM hood.

My personal preference is too keep the front bumper and side skirts. I think that they look fine together. The hood is the thing that needs to change (although I think that it looks a lot worse in the pictures than it really is).
