14.5 @ 98.8 (same as when I was stock), and that's after sittiing at the starting line spinnig my wheels for a good second or more. The modded 80s (?) Stang GT in the next lane got a good 8-10 cars on me off the starting line, but I caugh up to within 1/100 of a second by the finish line. I definitely need better rubber.

BTW there was a TON of SRT4s, WRXs and EVO8s, not one of which broke into the 13s. Of course I didn't see every run as I was by myself (no one from the board showed up) and I had to keep running back to check the roll calls to make sure I didn't miss my turn! One absolutely stock-looking (obviously not) S4 did high 12s. I'm jealous. One new Mach1 and several SVTs all did high 12s as well. One WRX blew its engine or something at the start up with a real loud bang and a mechanical crunch. It got towed away. One C5 spun, did a 360 and missed the concrete guard rails by inches and then stalled. Everyone cheered him. It was absolutely freezing cold and windy, but fun. Oh, and a bunch of older gen Z's showed up and all parked around mine, all nice guys and everything but didn't seem very sociable. Three other 350Z's showed up parked scatterwise in the pit area but I didn't recognize any of them.

I took some pics. PM me if interested.

So it's a slow strip like palmdale? Whats the elevation there?

Sorry I flaked out, partying till 4am previous night ... woke up at noon with a hangover. So what did I do? drove to laguna beach sat night and drank more.

I'd really like to make it out to the next drag meet (and i'm not talking about a women's clothing party).

Sorry, don't know the elevation and can't compare it to Palmdale as I haven't raced there (although I've flown over it a few times in an ultralight..LOL). All I can say is that the track seemed very slick "to me" as it was very hard to get the tres to grip. But other cars' ETs were right in the ballpark. e.g. non-GTS Viper did high 12s. Also it was very very cold. Cold air is good for making power. Not good for getting rubber to stick to tar and pebbles.

I forgot to mention in the previous post that a stock looking & sounding 70 or 71 Mach 1 (the real McCoy) showed up and ran high 11s. Now THAT is a drag car. A Civic will probably out-handle it, but getting four tons of iron to move that fast is an interesting sight to say the least.

Fontana is considered sea-level.... where as Palmdale gives you mathematical computation to calculate your "true times", sinces its elevated.

The reason Fontana is hard to grip is because most people dont burn-out after crossing the water in the "box". Also, remember that cold weather makes it harder to get better tracktion.

Anyway, who's going this Saturday 2/07/04? I want to go, but don't know if I'll make it, I get out of school at 4pm, but tech starts at about 2pm, no?

Last time people were still rolling in way past 4:00 and they were probably OK since they'll end up in the last group which won't get called till around 6:00 anyhow. I don't know if I'll make it tomorrow. I was going to get drag radials put on today and see if they makes any difference, but could't find a shop with them in stock so I think I'll pass this time.
