^^Lol. I was actually hoping he hit my front bumper/fender instead. Currently looking for a body shop, most likely makito in torrance since he's 5 min from my parents place.

 

that sucks. sorry to hear about the accident.. hopefully the body shop you take it to knows what they're doing. getting hit like that on the rear quarter is going to take alot of time to get it right-- hope its not just a fill in job....

Yup, that's what he means. Most places just pull it and fill the rest with bondo/body filler and try to eyeball it so it mostly matches the other side.

Hopefully there's no frame damage (sorry if it was mentioned earlier, didn't read the whole thread). If there's no frame damage, they should be able to cut the current one off and weld another quarter panel on or pull the current one out and reshape it.

If they really want to do it right, they'd cut all the factory welds for the quarter panel and buy a new panel from Nissan and weld it in its place. But that's a crap ton of work.

 

Thats not that bad. I definately would get it fixed in the least invasive way. Meaning do not replace panels. You want them to just repair the dents.
In my experience even if you take it to the most expensive, reputable shop they will not be able to replace a quarter panel correctly. Its too much work for them. even if you give them $8k it will be ghettorigged at best because no matter what they dont care about your car. Its not theirs and they probably drive an integra.
What could/would go wrong> factoey spot welds will be cutout incorrectly. Spot welds will be replaced with another method loke mig welds because almost no shop has a spot welder. Corrosion protection might be applied but most likey wont be painted and will be covered up by the interior panels. And a door skin replacement will have the skin folded over with a hammer and look like sh¡t.
If it were me i would Tell the body shop not to replace any panels. And have them just repair the dents. They will pull the big dents out and fill the rest with "bondo" which is your best friend and will look good as new. Avoid getting screwed, literally, dont cut off a quarter panel.
