Well, let's make it official, sent you a PM. My car is now up and running so let's see what we get. Not going to have time to take it to T/S so I'll run it as is. Not real happy with the results as I seem to have lost a TON of low end torque with the new motor.... guess the dyno will let me know. Haven't been on the board much this week as it's very busy at the dealer and home right now, see ya' Saturday.

Can't miss that one!! Please try to make it!

As far as the dyno, it's only a 2-wheeler.
The supercharged Z will be there if everything goes well.

I'm going to have a sign-in sheet on a clipboard. Please make sure to sign in as soon as you get there to get in line for your dyno. Please try to get there early to ensure a spot. I'll be hanging out there pretty much all day so try to find me or the clipboard... I'll be the tall dude with the goatee and oakleys.

See you all tomorrow.

Talking I'm BaaAAacccKKkkk.....

Dyno Day was great, I left at 12:00, saw some interesting things happen, including Jeff's car.

I'm thrilled with my results, 240HP and 228TRQ!

I believe My K&N Typhoon has proven itself today, as well as the Grounding Kit. I pulled 240 without exhaust mods and my runs appeared to be the smoothest of them all, vs. w/o grounding kit.

Also with the lighter flywheel may have smoothed things out a bit as well along with the clutch, but I don't know what impact that really has or not. There were a few cars with clutch/flwywheels today.

I didn't even run enhanced fuel or anything.

I'm sure everyone will be right behind me with their results, but for the meantime, here's mine:

Jeff was not pleased!! After spending way too much money on new cams, air intake ported/polished heads, JIC Y-Pipe.... I gained nothing. Even lost a couple HP due to the knock sensor going crazy. Guess it's back to T/S to get it tuned. Never had time to stop over there before the dyno run. Now my conclusion is... STAY WITH NISMO PARTS!!! Well maybe not, but if I had it to do all over again it would be only the following mods:
Nismo Cams
JWT Pop-Charger
RT Cat's
UD Pulleys
Nismo Exhaust
AND BE DONE WITH IT!!!!!!!
Sorry 264/252 Previous dyno else where... before latest mod changes 268/257

Mine. SAE corrected, about 10 hp less than Powertrain Dynamics which was closer to sea level and more importantly, my baseline for the new motor.

Next mod, UR Pully.

Nice to see all you folks there!

[Edit: Oops, I forgot, I turned off attachments for this forum. Ah well, 246.6 hp.]

As much as I've spent with dynos (~500), the ecu (600), plenum/strut bar (400, used), reprogramming the ecu for the plenum (165)injen (250), pullies(150), borla(650), my first custom muffler shop exhaust (400), I should have just bought a stillen or vortech supercharger and been done with it. before the plenum and latest reflash, all that only got me from 241 to 254, and I've already invested 1/2 a supercharger!

edit, that 254 is before plenum and reflash, Haven't done another yet.

I'm really starting to feel the same way, but 5 grand being the entry price for the SC is ok, but its the tuning and stuff after that kills ya. Probes and gauges, dyno tuning, troubleshooting, etc. And living in constant paranoia any time you hear a strange sound. It's a good time for some, however. But some others (like me) really hate problems and it gives me a stomach ache until its resolved. I'd rather have reliability over instable power that drains my wallet. If I knew i could pay $4-5k out the door, get in the car and drive with no problems for 5 years with 350+rwhp, i'd swipe my credit card tomorrow.

I've learned that with NA, alot of guys who started modding early are the ones to ended up paying alot. Over a year after this car is out, we've barely tapped into the knowledge of what works, what doesn't... not to mention the prices are *slowly* coming down. Being the pioneer always sucks for this reason. I'm glad I got lucky with the borla. I was among the few who got it without it really being tested.

Also, i'd like to thank the following vendors for making an effort to show up at this event (and bringing their show & go cars for us to drool at):

Performance Nissan (Nismo Z)
F1 Motorsports (Stillen SC'ed Z)
2KRacing (500rwhp MK3 Supra)

And thanks to others for attending and helping us meet our minimum headcount... we've been invited by Stricly Dyno to do this again anytime (2-3 months from now sound good?)

If you missed this event and would like to dyno at the shop, they might possibly work with you on a discounted rate. This isn't verified tho, so call them at the number at the top of the thread and talk to Dan.

I'm down for another one. That will give me time to get to Technosquare. Running 15:1 fuel ratios is no good at all.
