Hey guys:

I've been trying to wade through all the BS and can't quite find a definitive answer. Here's the thing: I heard that installing an 05-06 RevUp lower plenum on a 287hp motor will substantially (+8 to 10) increase top end HP; albeit at a possible loss of torque. Can anyone confirm this? Seeing as how people are selling theirs for less than $200, I thought it might be a good mod to pick up.

search jason@performance's threads. i believe he dyno'd the revup lower plenum on a 287. i don't remember the outcome, but i remember i wasn't interested. anyway, what's the old saying? hp sells cars, but tq wins races? something like that.

It was good. Believe it or not we went to the same resteraunt again. But no bar clearing brawls this year...

FYI I installed those 8s this weekend in the Titan. In a VERY small box those things POUND. I have never in my life heard an 8" sub drop bottom like that. My buddy at Al and Eds that built the box for me was laughing his @ss off cause he couldn't believe it either. They EASILY outperform the 12W3v2 I had in there. Thanks again for those Jim. BTW anyone looking for a JL 12W3v2 with box...selling it cheap...

Supposedly, the lower plenum of the Revup motor has greater volume, so in theory, it should improve performance. (Of course, in theory, having a Z should get you lots of hot chicks, but that hasn't happened, so what the hell do I know? ) Torque does win street races, but then again, we have so much of it, sacrificing a little bit of low-end grunt for high end power seems to make sense.

Told ya so It's funny though dude ... you could convince anyone those are 8s, 10s or a single 12 and anyone would believe you ... gotta love it

I'm taking the weekend here to do my install in my garage on the Xterra .. things changed a bit and I got some more freebies (namely the A3000Gti and a spare 12") ... so I gotta figure this out and make it look clean and stealthy.

Si ... that's a Crown/JBL amp that does 3000W RMS into any load 4 ohms or under. MSRP...or as Monster Garage would say .... Freebie Value: $4600.00!!!

I'll see what we got for samples on those 12s ... design objective on those were W6 at 1/3 cost ... believe me, they succeeded

Then why get a centrifugal SC .... parasitic drag like a **** at low rpms and only real power gains after 3.5-4k .... doesn't add up

I know you wanted CARB ... but Stillen offered you that and immense amounts of low end torque years ago

7pm is the set meeting time. We usually park near subway and the nails place. A few get there early, some come a little after 7. If we're not by the cars, we're probably eating inside the Mexican joint or Sushi Hut.
