get a printout of the compressor map for your turbo (exact trim and A/R) if you can. we can do some quick calculations, and see why they used the turbo that they did.

i have another turbo book that i will bring. it is nowhere as good as maximum boost, but it might be helpful in some way.

Definitely...dude reading this book has seriously made me want to go back to school for some form of engineering degree. Its amazing the amount of physics and math that goes into this. If I realized there was so much math involved I would have gone back to school years ago. My favorite subjects in HS were Algebra, Trig, Calc, and Physics which all usually tie together. I would love to plot this out. BTW if all goes according to plan i should have my car back Fri and be back in SD by Fri afternoon. Not sure how late you work but we could meet up and go for a ride if you want.

Thats what I meant. I should be leaving Simi Valley around 12:00-1:00 Pm so that should put me in Escondido around 3-4..I know you duck out of work around then so I'll give you a buzz on the way down and see whats up. Or we could always meet up on Sat. Aren't you installing Josh's headers on Sat? I could lend a hand if you want.

i would think that the VQ35 is rather efficient compared to other cars. the volumetric efficiency of a crappy old carburated car is about .8 (or 80%), but i would say that the VQ is at least .85 (or 85%). granted, these are only estimations, so there is certainly some level of error in the calcs.

Chad check this out...

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....ric+efficiency

According to the SAE papers this motor keeps a 100% VE at least to 6xxx RPMs and was measured at 105% at like 5xxx RPMs...Can this be right?

this is definitely possible, with tuned intake and exhaust lengths.
