Default Dim Sum meet?

I think I recall someone asking about a Dim Sum meet a while back. Would anyone be interested in this? I was at the Sam Woo in Irvine yesterday and it didnt seem too bad. Post up your thoughts for places, times, etc.

I think any Sunday at 11am would work!

Blood pudding!! lol

Ill probably be sticking with the standard white guy fare...Har gow, shumai and those pork rolls (cant remember the name)

Jim, the date is still up in the air. We should do what works best for the majority of people who would like to attend.

How does Sunday May 30th work? Does anyone know of a better place than the Sam Woo in Irvine? If not, lets tentatively schedule for 11am on that date. The address is:

15333 Culver Dr # 720, Irvine, CA 92604

Ill post a sign up thread in a few days after more people have had a chance to post their thoughts.

edit: The Sam Woo in San Gabriel is pretty good too but parking in that center is a nightmare

May 30th is the day before Memorial Day so a lot of people may be travelling. I'd be up for it though.

We went to one dimsum restaurant in Irvine which was really good. I'm not positive on the name but I'm pretty sure it's this one.

Irvine China Garden
14825 Jeffrey Rd
Irvine, CA 92618-0404
Phone: (949) 653-9988

Maybe other people have been there and have an opinion.

Nice idea! Dim Sum owns my pants!

If you guys want to keep the location in OC that's fine, I'm always up for a drive - if it doesn't matter though then I can find out the names of the two places I go to up here in China Town in LA. One was called Empress Palace and the other was Dragon...something.

ps. Here's a menu of common Dim Sum items: Dim Sum Menu

There is also one in Cerritos near the mall, I believe it's along South street. Just thought that this would cut the distance for the LA guys and it's only 20+ miles away for the OC folks.

Can't make it on this weekend btw.

Now you guys have done it!!! Mention food, especially dim sum and this little girl is all ears!!! If you guys do it on a Sunday, I'd probably be able to make it out there, since I'm at the shop 6 days a week, including Saturdays, let me know what you guys decide and maybe this little girl can come out and play for once... hehe!

Parking is definitely going to be difficult no matter where we go. Our cars should be safe in Irvine, but we may not all be able to park together unless we park really far away. Whats the lesser of two evils, a crowded lot or haters jacking our rides....

Keep the options coming!

Dragon Phoenix is pretty good. Better than Sam Woo I think, but parking can be a nightmare on sundays..
