Thumbs up 5/30/04 - Dim Sum Meet

As a follow up to my previous thread, here is the sign up with the final details for our Dim Sum meet! For those of you who dont know what dim sum is, click here

Date: Sunday, May 30th

Time: 11:00am (pre-meet at 10:20)

Location: Irvine China Garden
14825 Jeffrey Rd
Irvine, CA 92618-0404
Phone: (949) 653-9988

Since parking is never easy on Sundays at any dim sum location, I suggest we meet up in the old IKEA parking lot just behind Black Angus at the Tustin Marketplace. This way we can gather who is all going, shoot the breeze and check out each others cars for a bit. If you cant make the pre meet, we will meet you at the restaurant around 11.

The address of the meeting spot is 3030 El Camino Real, Tustin 92782.

If you are coming South on the 5, the easiest way to get here is to exit Jamboree, take a left off the freeway, make your first left on El Camino Real, take the next left on East drive, then make the first available left into the parking lot. Lets park on the right side of the lot since IKEA is no longer here.

If you are coming from the 5 north, the directions are the same except when you get off the freeway, make a right turn. You probably want to be in the outside turning lane because the left you will need to make on El Camino Real comes up real fast.

I suggest we meet at 10:20am, hang out for a bit and leave around 10:40-10:45. Our destination is only a couple miles away. Please sign up if you can make it!

I have a graduation to go to that day... but I forgot when the time of that ceremony was. So if it's after 3pm or so, I should definately be there fo some dim sum!

Charles, I added you to the list. Looks like a small turnout shaping up for dim sum. Sorry for picking the holiday weekend for those of you who had planned on going but cannot make it. We will have to do this again later on! One good thing about dim sum is you can have it every weekend

LOL...it would be like bringing the lamb to the wolves den.

She may...depends on if she feels like hanging out with car guys (though she is seriously into autocross now with her accord...she will be switching to the Z later...she could probably give a lot of us a run for our money).

Gonna have to remove myself from the list. My aunt called tonight inviting us to her birthday lunch on Sunday. I hate that...when relatives call with short notice but you still have to go.

Sorry guys gonna have to wait to the next one but I wouldn't have been able to bring the Z (still in the fabrication shop for the rollbar/semi-cage) anyways.

Sorry folks....last night I changed one set of wastegate gaskets (5 hours of work.aaahh), so I was too tired to the other side. Well, on the way home, the other side completely blew out, and now I have a massssssive exhuast leak. So I am driving back to Tony's house today to wrench on the other side...if I finish in time, I will swing by. Have fun!

Had a good turnout today for dim sum, about 11 people. We defied the odds by getting our own row for parking and getting a table immediately upon our arrival at the restaurant!

We also had a post dim sum "run" which was pretty fun as well. We will have to do it again! Jon, we promise we wont make you eat chicken feet if you go next time

Thanks everyone!
