Talking Which dealer do you bring your car in for service or warranty work?

I know many of us go to Performance Nissan... but am wondering what are the other places everyone is taking their cars to. Mossy? Torrance? Universal? Thought I'd just take a quick survey...

Only one answer to this question.....I wont take my car anywhere except Performance Nissan in Duarte. Not only are they super mod friendly, but they always go above and beyond if you have a problem. They have put my car up on the rack countless times to help me with stuff.......at no cost.

For warranty work...I goto Performance Nissan....and for turbo and crazy wiring skills...I goto bobowah's shop.... Street Image.

Jeff is right, I do love Torrance Nissan's service department. Howerver, their parts department can barely hold a candle to Performance Nissan.

Torrance Nissan's service department is the only Nissan dealership in So. Cal. that I trust. When it comes to parts, I trust Jeff, Jenny and Jason at Performance Nissan. Their service department seems first rate. However, there is a difference between parts and service.

If you want to buy parts, Performance Nissan can not be beat. These guys are the best, and I bet that statement is true nationwide. As far as service is concerned, that's a matter of establishing a relationship with the service department. I have had over $10,000 in warranty work, including engine and tranny done at Torrance without any problem despite my modifications.

Jeff probably could do the same for a customer, but I've not have first hand experience. What I do know is, when he says mods are not a problem, I trust him that mods will not be a warranty issue.

In summary, if you want parts - Performance Nissan. If you want service, it depends upon how well you establish a relationship with the service director, advisor and auto-tech.

For service, Gardena Nissan, without a doubt. Great service dept, and really helpful people.

For parts, Perfomance Nissan.

We need a Performance Nissan in San Diego! I usually go to Mossy in Escondido.

A couple of wheels later? Is that a drink or a time frame?

It is about time for me to head on down to Performance for some service work......Are you stocked up on Mobil 1?

I had a hard time posting last night after hitting my local bar. I need to add that Jeff/Bobowah and Eric at StreetImage can hook up forum members on parts as well. Their pricing is top notch and Eric's work is better than what you will find at any dealership.

But, that's not what this thread is about. For warranty work, I recommend and would go to either Torrance Nissan or Performance Nissan. If you go to Torrance Nissan, get to know Brett and Brian.

I personally go to Performance Nissan. I used to go to Torrance Nissan before I met Jeff at Performance. One of the reasons why I stopped going to Torrance Nissan is b/c they killed my engine (stalled) a couple of times trying to drive it into the bay. I don't really want people who do not know how to drive my car servicing my car, ya know. Also, they lost a couple of bolts from the bottom after an oil change. But the major thing has to be the tranny problem which the mechanic kept telling me that it was normal for my Z to have "stubborn" tranny, which later on was replaced under warranty by Performance Nissan.

I took my Altima in to Torrance Nissan on a Saturday last time and my gosh there was no body. There used to be a line of poeple waiting on Saturdays. I guess their service people really have to pick it up or they will continue to lose customers.

Anyway, I know Performance is the best and I still go there religiously. The reason for my posting this thread was I was curious as to how many people actually do not go to Performance Nissan but utilize their local Nissan dealers for their service/parts.

I go to Performance Nissan.

I went for an oil change and left with a Crank Pulley and Cats

Jeff, Jason, and Jenny have gone out of their way to help me out.
I also like that they are part of the SoCal crew and you can usually find one of them at a meet or run.

These guys are Z owners too. Gotta love that!

the service advisors at torrance nissan are nice and all but their tech's pretty much suck. Very sloppy when doing work on the car and sometimes careless. Plus the pricing to get some stuff done is pretty high. I'll be taking my car to perf. nissan next time around.

I've been taking mine to universal because I got my car there and it's super close to work.

I dont recommend it though. I try to avoid going there when possible. Cust service is pretty crappy. People seem to hate their work. The tech are ok. Wait time is long.

Probably will try torrance or performance next time around.

Performance Nissan hands down. But for oil changes, bring them your own Mobil 1. If you don't, they will charge you $20 a quart for Mobil 1 !!!

JEFF - Do something about this, please.
