I'm going to be out of commission for a couple of months. So, I'd like to coordinate a meet in August.

I had a chance to meet the CEO of FreshAlloy.com. He advised me that we could have sponsors present at a meet. I'm not interested in sponsors but, one suggestion did interest me. We can have a paintless dent removal guy show up.

So, this thread is to start up suggestions for an August meet. Including a run, lunch, dinner, clubbing, or whatever, anyone who cares to offer any ideas is welcome to do so. Please feel free to offer up Saturday or Sunday dates and times along with locations.

 

I say we need to make a VEGAS run... it's been a while since we had some fun.

Either that or a chill Beach meet or something or BBQ?

Sounds like you're elected to come up with something for June and July. Don't forget Pat's canyon run and the Dyno day set up by Sharif.

As far as sponsors, it was pretty open-ended. At the last meet at Thousand Oaks, there were quite a number of sponsors including Stillen, wheel manufacturers and a few others. He left me with the impression that he could handle bringing in pretty much anyone if that's what we want.

However, I don't know if we want to turn this into a sponsor type thing. In my opinion, I think we should let Mr. T do the sponsor type meets since he clearly is good at making those arrangements. But, this is open for everyone to discuss further if people are interested.

 

Yeah. I'll be there for Sherif's dyno day on the 12th. Not sure about the other run yet, but I hope to make it.

Whenever sponsors and money become involved, it becomes more formal. Promotion to insure a sufficient number of people show, location requirements and a whole host of concerns arise. I'm sure he could handle most of this but, someone, myself or another member would also have to coordinate. And, this is by no means just my call.

If we as a group want sponsors showing up at our meets, I can make a call and have arrangements made. But, I find that our informal meets are much more fun. We are free to do whatever we want, whenever we want, without having to make it into a structured meet where sponsors would expect to have our attention for X number of hours.

Everyone's thoughts on this are welcome.

As for a track day, I have to say, that sounds like a lot of fun. Scott Webb would probably be the best person to coordinate a track event. Let's keep this an open option.

I'm in for any meets for our new 3fivezeroz group. One more thing guys I wanted to organize a going-away meet or hangout for Sharif since he is moving away. As far as the Stillen Meet I will be working the event as I just got hired to do sales for stillen. I won't be able to caravan with Diablo.

I think that it would be cool to get a large group of us to go to the drag races at the California Speedway next month. There are 2 days to choose from. July 17th and July 31st. Here's the schedule.
