Default Any LA people wanna give me some advice?

Basically, I've been looking to get away from the Northeast and relocate to Southern California. I'm 24 and I've been in NJ my whole life, except for when I went to college in NYC. I just recently found out about a good job I have a very strong chance of getting in Glendale. I wanna come out there, but I don't know a soul on the West Coast. My g/f of a long time can't come with me, at least not now. Basically, what I'm looking to know is if there anything I can say to convince my girl to come with me, or failing that, if it's easy to meet new people out there .

I moved out here with my girl from NYC last Sept. Been in NYC my entire life. Didnt know anyone here. in the begining it was a little tough. adjusting to a new city, I would get lost for hours.

Now I have a bunch of Friends. Most I've met through the Z.
Many of the guys have girlfriends or wives, so your girl will also
meet new friends. Some of the coolest people I've met. If your girl loves you she will follow you anywhere, Mine did. and if she doesnt want to come, let me tell you, you wont have trouble finding a new one. hehe Cali girls are beautiful.

Come to a meet and you'll have instant friends. The weather is great, the beach is awesome. totally different vibe than the east coast, You'll trip out. I still do. The people are way more laid back here than NYC and more friendly.

Traffic is horrible and you have to drive everywhere. Clubs close at 2:00AM.

If your into cars, which I am guessing you are this is the ****ing place to be. it's incredible.

Basically I look at it like a big adventure. you only live once and why not try something new. if it doesnt work out for you NJ aint going anywhere.

it takes an adjustment, but give it some time and you'll understand whats so great about this place.

if your looking for a change then this is a great place.

Good Luck.

Tell her you'll be surrounded by hotties.

If she still doesn't come with you... who cares?

You'll be surrounded by hotties!

North of LA. West of Pasadena. South of the Valley.

Like Clint(el diablo) said, you wont have any problems making friends here. People are more friendly, and besides, we have many of the best Z people in the country!

Well, I'm in NYC 6 days out of 7 on average, so my name still makes sense.

Guys, thanks so much for your help... it's still such a hard decision. You all pretty much confirmed what I thought of LA. If I can get a job at Deloitte, PWC or McKinsey, then it'd be a no-brainer. Is there anything else I can say to convince my g/f to make the move with me?

The beaches are wonderful in Cali. She can lay out all the time and work a nice tan.

And if she's into fashion, LA is the place to be. (altho NY is pretty good too)

Hey another east coaster on the way to Cali. As Dialbo said things are a big change here and I have never adjusted since 1990. When you get out here you will be homesick but you'll slowly get use to it. The only thing for me since I came out to Cali it will never be home as all my roots and culture is in New York. When I met Diablo it was like I could relate to him and his Girl when we hung out. I feel much at home when I hang out with people from back home. When you get out here we should all hang out. Ed

Default NO, don't come to SoCal

the devil ("el diablo") lives here. L.A. is full of awful traffic, televised police chases, illegal aliens, and plastic surgeons, LMFAO.

i have lived in l.a. all my life (49 years). can't imagine having to live anywhere else

I've been out here for 2 years (from CT) and I haven't met too many people, but I can say that going to that Stillen meet makes it easy to make friends. I met some great people there.

While, I wouldn't say that it better than the east coast, I can say it's different. Can say you don't like something until you try!

Exactly !

it was nice meeting you at the meet Bro!

The Z is an awesome way to meet people. you have an instant connection.

SoCal is a great place that I am sure you and your girl will love.

There are a bunch of East Coast Z owners here too.
