OK, we all know that John's posts can be a bit criptic. JOHN (AMY) was NOT DRIVING!

I asked my insurance guy what would happen if a friend is driving my car and damages it. He said that the driver's insurance will pay...NOT the owners of the car. There is no effect whatsoever on the car owners insurance rates.

Now, if the driver doesn have insurance to cover the at-fault accident, then the owners insurance will kick in, but your rates can go up. The insurance company will then sic their pitbulls onto the driver, and try to collect from him.

OUCH!! It hurts to see those pics....sorry man. I couldn't help but notice that your accident was right by Tam's Burgers. I live right up La Mirada Blvd a mile or two near Leffingwell. I drive a blue Z w/ the license plate ZULOOKN. Surprised I haven't seen you on the road as we must live minutes from eachother. Anyway, hope all is well and at least you came out OK

Sup:

I'm still Kinda Shocky - It's not the dollars.. It's the "rubbing" and "Polishing" of a Z car design.. And now the lack of it..

The car's faults - as there are several.. are overweight by the "love of the potential of this Car"

This car should have been the "Flagship of Nissan"

The designers F*ck up by front end suspension design, and not
going for a real Sports Car set of Brakes to go with the Bosch ABS Unit.. Brembo's excluded...

It is like this - you go around a turn - and the ABS locks the front caliper.. You are F*cked.. A potential Death Trap...

Did you feel this way before the accident? I don't recall anyone mentioning this problem before.

uh yeah... a good sports car driver wouldn't be braking at the exit of a turn.

and unless your brakes malfunctioned you can still steer when you have full ABS. that's what ABS is designed for.... NOT to lock up your tires.

Wow!! When did you make the change to your car, Ben? You aren't the Big Bad Black Track anymore... now you're the "Big Bad Blue Track".

Hey Amy,

Hope you are well. I've read on another post that your car has been deemed a total lost? So you thinking about buying the VQ35DE and taking it apart to be born again as a 4.3L NA powerplant Also hopefully your insurance will give you your settlement check ASAP so you can pick up another Z33.

Regards,
Jeff

First I want to say sorry for your loss and I hope everything works out.

This is one of the reasons I'm getting ride of my Z. A good sports car driver wouldn't brake at the exit of the turn, the problem is the car might. Crazy thing is the car will hit and sometimes lock the brakes at very high speeds even if you are not touching the brakes. I experienced this at Willow Springs Race track. If you push the car too hard the VDC takes over even when you have it switched off. It would lock up only one of my front tires making it very VERY scary to controll.

Now I don't know if this is what happened to this kid, just something I thought about while I was reading the post. If it did happened that way, he must have been driving WAY to hard on public streets.

Hey AMY I got a Silverstone/Burnt Orange Touring with Nav for sale if you are looking

Jeff: All:

Have I thought about Buying the Salvage Remains..

Yes, It is a complete Running Car.. It's just Bent..

As you were saying.. As being the Passenger in the car..
You had an eyewitness.. The car was wide at 30mph, you looked right wondering if too close to curb. As your head came up
the Car went radicaly left. Pop. Air Bags.
The Left front Caliper locked.. ( Autopsy - by Non Nissan Mechanic ) Line to ABS had to be vented, to release Caliper. ABS Failure...

After the "freak accident" the car was still running
- that rules out the Cams being launched forward..
That the Car was turned off, by the key.. Is a good indicator
of the integrety of the power plant.

I spoke with the Total Loss Agent today.. He said to speak with the Salvage Yard - associated with the towing company assigned..

If I or Tony can tell the Salvage Yard.. Don't pick it up.. How much do you want.. Then we would have a Spare VQ35/5AT to mod...

Plus all the rest of a complete 2003 350Z to part out...

As you know I have two 1981.5 Turbo Coupes.. Stock... Licenced, Insured and running....

How about a 1981 Turbo Coupe - with a 3.5 Liter VQ35?

The Parts..............................................

Fuel Tank.. Fuel Pump
Computers, ECU, BCM, Seats,
Wire Looms, Plastic Parts,
Rear Suspension, Rear Bumper,
Cabin Vent, Bose 6CD, Correct Bose Amp, Speakers
rear Hatch and Glass.. Tail Lights.. Side Glass
A Right Head Light ( nicked ) Right Fender,
Both Doors With Glass ( no grease Streaks )
a Full Firewall back body clip that we could sell to Richard..
Sun Glass Holder.. Old Style Dash - Side Air Bags -
Seats Leather with Heaters and SRS Air Bags...
Cup Holder... Steering Wheel for Masochist's -
Pocket lint...
Two Slightly damaged Hello Kitty's
Set Of Hotchkis Sway Bars

Jeff, What do you think we can offer for this "Pile of Parts"

A 5/At with an Engine on E-Bay did not meet Reserve at $4500.

I'd give the Bone yard 2K or 3K for the privilage.. to part it out..

MY350Z All:
folks what do you suggest...?

Yah Jason but did you see the single tire mark from the front only...Have you seen or heard of that before on our cars. It scares me to think that can happen to me. We were trying to figure that one out at the crash scene.......On another note we need to keep John away from Stealerships before his buyers impulse takes over. He needs to shop around and then decide. We took a drive to Buena Park nissan and I had to PEEL him away from the roadsters.....
