I did that before, right after I bought the car on my way from NY to Indy ... cruise at 60 - 65 mph gave me 36.1mpg .... I was amazed. Now, with this lovely CA gas, my last trip to Vegas got me a whopping 28.9mpg.

What was your travel speed on the trip?

yeah, mpg avg 29.6 i was cruising at average speed 71 mpg, i know it's hard to go that slow on the 15 but i was just enjoying the trip and it was nice not having to worry about CHP. When i filled up in Ontario it only went up to 18.5 gallons, so maybe i could've made it all the way back. The DTE was blinking ----- since before Victorville but i just wanted to break 500.

Now that I have the new fuel system, does that mean I'll be getting even WORSE milage? (the AAM system)

I could barely get 280 before! I cannot see how anyone could possibly get 500 miles to a tank!

it's 275 miles to Vegas from my house near the L.A. Coliseum, i made it there and didn't fill up until the return trip into Ontario, so it made 510 miles. I was driving cruise control all the way there and back at 70-71 mph. (slow for the 15, i know) but hey, that mileage is possible.

marco_mendoza,

Dude I believe you. On August 31, I went to Vegas from Covina. When I got there, my gas tank was just a little passed half tank. I was surprised!!! I think I drove about 75-80 mph.

Highest speed was about 105mph. Too much traffic and cops.

Tony
