Default Scheduled maintenance - when and where???

I recently went to the dealer for my 7,500 mile service, and was charged over $60.00. They basically did a oil change and supposedly checked a few things. I feel like I was ripped off.

Should I just go to Jiffy Lube from now on? Will it void my warranty if I don't go to the dealer for the schedule maintenance listed in the manual?

Also, how often should I get my oil changed? Since I only drive my Z on the weekends, I don't hit 3,000 miles for at least four or five months. Is the guideline of 3,000 miles OR three months a good rule to follow? Or should I just go by my odometer?

Any advice is appreciated.

The warranty guidelines are 3,000 or 3 months. But you can follow the other schedule listed which puts the oil changes further apart mileagewise. I switch to synthetic oil and will change at 5K.

I just got my 7500 mile service for $34.95 + tax. If you sign up for "My Nissan" on the Nissan web site, you'll get access to special offers.

Trust me I had the same feeling when I used to take my car in for the major/minor services at Torrance Nissan. So I stopped.

We can do oil changes for you however we use Synthetic oil (Mobil 1) which increases the price of the oil change.

Just change your own oil. I change my own and it's a lot cheaper than getting ripped off at a dealer.

Under no circumstances should you take your car to Sniffy Pube! I took mine one time and between them all arguing over who got to drive my car into the garage to playing with all the things in the interior (seats, nav system, radio, etc) I will NEVER go there again. They are completely unprofessional there.
