hmmm...must of gotten some name mixed up...
and, no, no more pix of that evo....
Jeff wasn't lying about the 350z not representing at the tracks. If me and oliver didn't go spectate, there would only be 2 Zs. The place was swormed by S2000, evos, and porsches...
on a good note, there was a nice showing of G35s...

the price if you were to race is $150 Fri; $150 Sun; $280 2 days; $390 3 days ( + $30 instructor fee required for first-timers)
Me and Oliver just spectated since it was our first time... We just paid $10 to get in.
Yes the C4S is gorgeous...if the whole car wasn't covered in blue tape
...
There was 2 yellow GT3s at the event too, those are beautiful as well...

So what did you think of the open track experience as a spectator? ... can we count you in for th next one?
I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you there. I was always too busy doing something, not to mention I was stuck at the other end of the line-up.
The paricular C4S belongs to my sweet friend Lori. It's her very first time. She took the advice to tape up for protection a bit far ... ya think?
I couldn't have made it home in one piece if it weren't for her watching over me on the way home, due to sleep deprevation.

THX723, are you the asian guy with glasses parked towarded the end? I saw you walking around with the girl with the C4S (Lori).
I am not sure if you can count on me next time out, but you can certainly count me out sometime in the future. It was lotsa fun just watching, but I want to take my time and not rush into this. Preferrably I want to take a racing course first, but they are kind of expensive. I also need to gather the stuff I need for track days (helmets, minor brake upgrade, etc). I may check out some autocrosses first too. It might be a good idea to test out my Z in a slower environment.
THX723, did you and all teh G35s drive up EARLY saturday morning and drove back after the event? How did you guys manage? That's SO MUCH driving. I was so tired jsut from the drive between LA and buttonwillow, and I didn't even hit the tracks.

Yup, that was me ![Big Grin](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Certainly ... take your time on this. It can't hurt to be over prepared. It is however, far less intimidating than you may think.
Here are some feedbacks from first timers.
Then again, Open Track events are not meant to be a direct replacement for a good High Performance Driving Education. Instead, it is a supplement to it; a place for one to practice and put to use what they have learned.
To answer your other question ... half of us arrive the night before and stayed at a local motel (it's very inexpensive), while the other half drove up early morning to make the event. All of us left the same day. Myself and Lori stayed behind to relax and had dinner w. my other track buddies who are there for the Sunday session as well. Yes, we were all poop'd out by the end of the day.
Hope you see you in the future,
