Smile Thanks!

Thanks everyone for your concern for me as an individual. That really means alot and do realize that cars are replaceable but not me. I'm just so thankful for that guardrail! I think if I would have lost control 10-15' earlier, I would've been over the cliff. That much more saved me BIG TIME! I'll let u all know what the results are of the claim that will be taken tomorrow.
Does anybody know if Power Nissan of Irvine does good body and paint work? Am thinking of taking it there for service or if anybody has any other options, I'm all ears.
Again, thanks for your concerns and help, I know I would offer the same if it were any of you all!

Very glad you are ok Jon, and glad the guardrail did it's job, keeping you up-top and level.

I used to live at Cranes on the lake, just south of where the hwy hits lakeshore. It was a much to frequent occurence to see emergency vehicles on the hillside, using wenches to retrieve those who were not as lucky as you.

Be safe everyone.

Holy crap Jon. Your Z was the cleanest one amongst us. Alas. But I'm sure it can be put back together like new - just takes $$ and time and knowing a good body shop. Like someone said, cars are replaceable - even a Z. Now you get to enjoy the Probe for a while ;-D. I was gonna say if there is a silver lining to this, it's that you get to beat the crap out of a rental, but I guess not.

Ya know, don't ask why, but I had a bad feeling about this run from the time I saw the thread. In fact I thought it got cancelled, but wouldn't have gone anyway. No, I'm not psychic or anything.

I don't know about Power Nissan. Once I had a lousy service-related experience and won't go back ever. But I didn't think dealerships did their own body and paint work. Don't they normally send those out? Sorry can't help.

Glad you're OK. That's what matters. Just hang in there bud, pour yourself a tall glass of JD and chill out for a little while. My work schedule is pretty flexible so call if there's ANYTHING I can do to help.

Jon. I just read this thread.

I'm glad you are okay. Are you physically okay? I am so glad there was a guardrail there. B/C I don't really remember seeing any guardrails during canyon runs. I can't believe all the damage on your Z but like many have already said, they can be repaired. Hope everything goes well with your insurance claim.

jeez.. thank god you're ok jon, it could have been much much worse..

i think im done with canyons after seeing so many cars lose control, 2 s2000's recently went over a cliff and got damaged pretty bad, luckily no one was hurt in either case, but i figure it's just a matter of time..

Jon!!! Holy ****!!!

I just read this, and man... I'm really glad to hear that you're ok. Don't worry about the car too much. I'm sure it'll get back in good form soon. You, on the other hand... have MANY more hooters left to see in your lifetime.

Be safe.

Go back, to where you crash. Replay the whole thing in your head. Try to understand what went wrong, driving error or mechanical. Don't be scared, understand the mistake. Then you'll get the confidence back.

Take care, thats good you get to live to tell the tale.

Jon, sorry to hear about your accident and am glad that you are safe! I would've been there with you guys if I hadn't been to Buttonwillow on Saturday. Hopefully, see you (and your Z) soon at another meet.

I just read the post. Sorry to hear about the accident, but the most important thing is that you're ok. Cars are replaceable but you only get one chance to live.
