I'm glad that you are ok. I'm also glad that the damage is minor. That said, you guys need to save your aggressive driving for the racetrack. The canyons are a disaster waiting to happen, period. Again, good to hear you didn't have to learn the really hard way!

Geez Jon.....I think for future runs, being speed demons is NOT an option anymore! Last thing any of us want to witness, is someone going over the side. Regardless if it's a Z, or anyone else.
Thank the man upstairs every night now when you go to sleep. Hope you're not too traumatized...something like this can mess a person's mind up but good!
Keep friends close by, when and if you need to talk about it. We are always here for you! Take care,
Jen

Damn!
Jon,
I am really sorry to hear about the crash, but glad to hear that you are ok. That's all the matters. I think that this is the reason that I don't go on the canyon runs anymore. It reminds me of when I used to ride with a sportbike club several years ago and saw several crashes 2 of which were fatal. It puts things into perspective.
I hope you're back behind the wheel again soon.

Jon,
Nissan has their own body shop off of Carlota and Ridge Route (somewhere behind the furniture row) and that's where Power Nissan sent their work to. I'm not sure if they still do, this was 3 years ago. You can check out the back of my Pathfinder for their work quality. IMO the color match is good (metallic green) but it looks like there is little to no clear coat. I wasn't too happy about the paint but the bumper and gate install looks good.

Jon,
Have not been on the board for a while and I come on to see this thread.
So sorry to hear about the crash. Glad you are OK! Someone was watching over you. As it has been said many times, cars can be replaced and fixed, people can't. I am sure you will get your Z running and looking great again real soon.

Sorry to hear about your mishap Jon I too was planning to go on this run... but went to Buttonwillow instead.
Hope you are feeling all right. Too many of us know the feeling. The car doesn't look too bad from the pics. Like you all told me the week before "Wear your battle scars proudly"

lucky indeed
If only that is the damage you sustained, while avoidng the potential bumpy(and painful) ride down that 300 foot cliff, you are indeed lucky.
Car shouldnt cost more that 1500 to fix, a coupla weeks & you are back on road. Car just like new(have them repaint entire car!!) Then, better than new,....
Doyou have any pix of your close encounter with the 'other side'? I'd like to see the cliff!
Glad to see youre still with us, though!
Also, what tires + width were you running?
Any future rides/runs, please email me....I am looking for drives to go on...

hehehe... that was last year. 12/03.. not this year but still within the last 12 months.
Besides, that wasn't my fault... it was that stupid motorcycle that hit me riding on the double-yellow.

Glad you are OK John. And yeah..seems like 2004 was the year of many many So Cal crashes. Apparently, I took the trend with me to NC, and crashed mine over there! Still have the CA plates..and the car is back to perfect.
$1500 in repairs? Sorry...must be dreaming...hehe...I am guesing at least $8000....believe me...this stuff adds up quick. Door, quarter panel, pretty much all of your rear suspension, hub assmeble, and likely a bit of frame setting and alignment
My final repair tally was $26,000...and I still have a few incidentals that need to be addressed.

Yea wasn't a good year for us. As far as repairs, I don't know where the $1500 came from but the estimate for mine was $9600 and that wasn't including my mods that were damaged. The biggest part was the rear suspension and right rear hub, but all can be fixed and I'm still here which is the most important of all. I won't know my final repair till I get the car back probably and it looks like it will still be awhile due to parts on back order. Man I really miss driving that car!

List of crashes (dings?) in last 12 months (including all of 2004), as reported.
I removed AudioPat, since his post implied he did not crash.

12.Amycroft
13. G35to350Z (Jeff D.) - minor damage to passenger side undercarriage and to right rear wheel. This happened on a run in the Santa Monica Mountains (I think that's where we were, I was just trying to follow the car in front of me).
