They do the runs in 5th gear (6 MT)and in 4th (5AT)consectively with only a min or so in between so very little time to tinker so have your game play all planned out if you intend to do anything.'

At the last dyno, a nunber of guys just hung out and learned a ton of stuf all are welcome but parking is limited in the back to park in line to dyno.

If your just "hangin" park in front of the shop pleas,,,,,'

RedondoG
You best get there early. Dyno 1st or second . Change the plenum and then leave,. .... for a while The ECU takes a little time to make the corrections to the new conditions. Then dyno again at the end.

I should be able to make out there on January 8th. I'm assuming everyone will start gathering around 9am at Hunting Beach (Powertrain Dynamics)?

Hi Mr. Twisted...we met at Beergoogle's Chino Stereo meet. Hope Mrs. Twisted & your 2 fantastic Z's are doing well. I am planning to have my Technosquare flash done after our dyno (when TS ha my R2 specs). Would it be possible to pre-pay a second dyno appointment for a future appointment? I just wanted to have a before & after comparison. It'll enable me to bring the initial dyno results to Tadashi as well. Thanks & Merry Christmas!!!

Sure I remember you. Your the philippino guy with the DB Z. Nice car by the way.

As for the post dated dyno slot, you'll have to ask Steve the owner of Powertrain. He's a really nice guy and wants the Z guys to use he's shop.

Tadashi is in Japan for a month and will not be back till Jan 15th so you have plenty of time to add more stuff.

What type of dyno is this going to be run on? I just got my car tuned and have heard different stories of many dynos being overly generous with HP/TQ figures.

This is the only dyno reconized by most of the guys. It's a dynojet and huntington beach is as close to sea level as your going to get. I've dyno there at least 5 times with great repeatable results that are believeble and accurate.

With my mods I can almost predict I'll come in at between 262-268 whp.

This should be quite interesting. I got a feeling I'm running a little lean.

well, if you really want to be sure, you would really need a wideband a/f BEFORE the cats. as soon as the gasses pass through the cats, the a/f reading is a bit off, so it really isnt as exact as many seem to think.

I have a V4 plenum in the box, so I may sign up for 2 seperate runs and put the plenum on in-between the runs.
If so, would you be willing to help? I haven't even looked at what it'll take to install the plenum.

Terry,

I didn't think about it earlier, but if you want to swap out the plenum there, you are going to need to get there like 2 or 3 hours early so the engine has time to cool down. It will be WAY too hot to work on otherwise. Also, as Twisted mentioned, you should be the first one to get dyno'd so that the engine has time to cool again afterward before we swap out the plenum.

well, from the last dyno day there, they had about the first 3 people sign up to determine the order. then others just filled out the papers after that. the sheets are just filled out during the runs. so i guess, just to get the day going, we need 3 volunteers to go first.

also, the person who wants to do the plenum should be there the first.

I also forgot to ask. Does this place also give you AF readings using a wideband?

Is this the type of Dyno where they pull off your wheels, or the drum type?
