Fun idea for Road Ralley event to end summer.
This seems like a fun idea for an event. It's similar to what Dave had talked about a month ago. This is the description from the Jawbreaker Road Rally taking in place in OH.
****Drivers and co-drivers navigate through roughly 6 hours worth of technical twisties and backroads in Ohio and Kentucky using the provided route map and instructions. With multiple checkpoints along the way, cars will collect Jawbreaker poker cards from the lovely Jawbreaker girls at the checkpoints; best hand wins cash! Team departures and arrivals will also be timed for the best route time based on a secret average time.*****
Dave - I probably could have my 8 wives each posted at a checkpoint to hand out cards.
I might suggest that this would be a day event that encompasses a much smaller route. Afterwards we would end the ralley at lake Calhoun for BBQ. It might be a fun event to end the summer and would be curious to roll a bunch of cars into a parking lot at Calhoun. Curious to see who all would be interested. Of course we would need a few people to work the stations. I say we open this up to Z's and G's and any friends
Here is the possible example route - Maybe 3-4 hours total. Something similar to the twistees cruise we did in Spring.
1. Start - Lake Calhoun @ 9-10am
2. Head down south of the cities to Wabasha
3. Cut over at Wabasha on the twistees
4. Back up to the cities
5. End - Lake Calhoun @ 2-3pm
I figured I might start a list to gauge interest. No reason to go through the work of putting together a list if no one is interested.

this may be a hell of a time...only problem is we would want to get a date put into place asap.
As for the cruise we're trying to implement on the 16th of August...we're trying to make it HUGE...a "rally" cruise with G's, Z's, Bmw's, Audi's, Acuras, ETC. I would try and make it after this date for sure~

Anyone interested add your name to the list. Once we get an idea on participation then we can try and cement in some plans. I would even volunteer myself to set up flags and checkpoints on the course the morning of the event for those late sleepers.

Interesting.... I'd be down for that if we can get enough volunteers to do this. Maybe incorporating other car clubs and their friends would help out with this worthy cause.
Dave I think that is the only way it can work. We should only need 4 or 5 volunteers depending on how many checkpoints we use.
If anyone is interested go ahead and add your name on the list. I think we need to get an idea as to how many people would participate before we begin to make plans.
Maybe Wannabe or one of the other G guys can throw it up on the G site and some of the other sites. Do we want to post this on the mnsportcompacts.com?

I got one friend who's looking into it. I asked him to start a thread in their regional section. Don't know how else to do it unless I link him here.
Do we know if anyone else interested? If not I might just kill the idea. It would be too difficult to plan this if only 6 people show up, 4 of which are volunteers. I was even going to have some trophies made. If there is no more interest I might have to just add my name on the front and lie about what they were for. JK
