Default Houston Help

It looks like I’m going to be spending the holidays in Houston for a bowl game. We are going to be there from Dec 29th through Jan 1t. I’m staying at the Hilton-Post Oak by the Galleria. A few questions for the locals.

Places to eat near the Galleria that are reasonably priced (Less the $50 a plate) and not too fancy.

Attractions to see? We plan on going to Nasa but that’s all we have planned.

Go Cyclones!

Sounds great. If I wasn't going with my wife and another couple I would probably check out the buffet/strip club. Sounds like a good ombo.

All of the above sounds good except for Chachos. I use to go there when it first opened, but has recently gotten really ghetto. It is also common to see big roaches crawling the floors........A few more places to add.
Hooters - on Kirby Dr. & I-59. Good wings.
Houston's Restaurant- on Westhiemer and Fountainview. Really really good, but a tad bit pricey.
Chuy'z- TexMex restaurant on Westhimer & Kirby. Lively atmosphere.
Palm's, Chili's- 2 more restaurant's on Westhimer & Fountainview area. Palm's is the more expensive of the two. Chili's is moderately priced.

(Bars)
Tribeca Lounge - Westhiemer & Fountain View. (upbeat crowd, early twenties to late 30's.)
Sulivan's - Westhiemer inside of 610 loop. (Jazz, older crowed. mid 30's to 50's)
Champ's - Uptown Plaza, Bar(night time)/restaurant(day time). Most nice lounges and clubs are going to be in the dowtown or midtown area. You'll have to drive for that. Don't get lost!

I love me some Chuy'z!

For about $40 a head you can feast on the Brazilian "all you can eat" skewers of meat at Fogo de Chao Churrascaria off Westheimer. The place is very busy on weekends but the experience alone, along with the endless meats is well worth it. The salad bar rivals an airport runway, too. Love this place.

Well hit us up when you're down here bro. Maybe we can all get together. +2 on the Fogo de Chao. Also check out Maggiano's on Post oak just north of westheimer. Lots of places to eat.

If you want reeeely good tex-mex on the relative cheap, try Teotihuacan. 3 locations, 2 just north of downtown and 1 southwest. Fresh, tasty, consistent, and, friendly. I KNOW you can google it.
