Default 350Z's in Round Rock/N. Austin area

I've seen several Z's in the Round Rock area particularly around Dell. Actually, I've seen more Z's in this area than anywhere else. How bout some of us get together. I really would like to meet some of you guys. Speaking of which, about two weeks before getting my Z, I met a guy in the RR3 parking lot. He had a very nice Silver Z. Was nice enough to take me for a spin. He also directed me to this site. Thanks dude for the ride and the info. I usually park my Black Track at RR8 near a Silver Z with chrome wheels.

Default Congrats

Trackbite,

Congratulations on picking up your black track -- interested to see it. I am the guy you met in RR3 - the Silver Track with the "Dads Z" plates.

I'm planning on attending the CZOT's meet this Saturday the 18th - that would be a great place to meet a lot of other owners and do some fun driving as well.

As Chris can tell you, I am almost always up for a meet.

I have the DB Track that is always driving past the RR complex but not stopping Oh, not to mention the "slightly" different exhaust sound from my car. ;-)

Unfortunately, or is that fortunately, this weekend I am going up to Dallas to meet the DFW crew. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate this weekend.

Y'all have fun at the CZOT event.

Let me know if you all want to meet up another time.

Bishop_Tx,
I'll be there Saturday. If the weather is nice, there will be a lot of activity on Lime Creek. Should the driving get *spirited*, we'll definetely have to keep an eye out cops and sportbikes.

articfury,
I actually considered the drive to Dallas. I lived there for 8 yrs before moving to Austin and know the area well. My work schedule this weekend prevented me from going. We'll have get together sometime later. I'd be interested in hearing your exhaust.

Why did you decide to do the Dallas meet -- and not with your family here in Austin? Come on man, I mean the big D boys sound like a great group, but there's something to be said about taking care of your own.

Come with CZOT - Rodel and the gang have really been great and we 350Zers need to do better fitting in. Just a perception, and I speak for myself as well.

Chris,

I am going to Dallas because I want to meet some more of our brethren, see SkidaZZles car, and meet 2003z. None of those things can be accomplished in Austin this weekend. Also, before I made the decision I didn't know about the CZOT get together. I totally agree that Rodel and the gang are great folks.

Like I said before I am totally up for meets. Unfortunately, the last two CZOT meetings I was stuck with work.

Derek

PS

How are you liking your stereo these days?

Is there anything special about their cars?

everything I've read, and I've been trying to read a lot, is that any performance upgrade released at this time is wasted - meaning no gains or improvements.

Everyone is saying to wait - so what could they have done to the car that would have made it worth 400 miles of rock chips?

Did the Nissan guy look at your paint? Did you go with any film?

My stereo -- yeah it's okay I guess. Don't think about it much.

Derek,

What did you do to your exhaust? Any power gain, or just noise and/or looks?

Back to the thread, I work in RR1 and live in N. Austin, just don't own a Z (at least not yet...one could be in my future).

Please join us on Saturday - you are more than welcome. I'll jump on the SK2 board and let them know about our drive. Anyone can come, but we'd espeically appreciate you coming.

Hope to see you there.

Chris,

Thanks for the invite...I may stop by to say hi and check out everyone's cool cars, but no driving for me this time. My S2000 was rear-ended recently, and it's in the shop now. I don't think a Tundra would hang w/ y'all too well!

articfury,
Looks like I'll be checking out your exhaust sooner than I thought. I need to be in Dallas Sat eve so I'll be doing both the Austin and Dallas meets. I'll drive up after meeting with the Austin crew that morning.

Track,

Great! I look forward to seeing you there. Do you know who's silver Z with the large chrome wheels was parked out front of RR8 today?

Chris (Bishop),

Michael (SkidaZZle) is going to be there with his Z. He has put on TEIN coilovers with electronic adjustment, the full NISMO body kit, 19" wheels/tires, Stainless brake lines, and custom stereo.

Marcus (TXStyle) has 19" wheels/tires and StopTech Front brake kit.

Nissan did look at my paint. I am still hashing out a settlement with them. I will let y'all know when something gets worked out.

I haven't done a film. What about you?

Chris S,

Check this thread for the details. I would say that it definitely is quicker, not a lot though. Mostly sound right now. But the dyno wasn't where I wanted it to be. The jury is still out. I am also still trying to decide about the sound. I will be getting some input from those at the meet Saturday.

Sorry to hear about your car. Do you get it back soon? What shop did you take it to?

Derek

Derek,

Don't feel too sorry for me...they offered me $500 for "pain and suffering" even though I had no injuries, and I'm getting $25/day for loss of use - no need to pay for a rental w/ the Tundra. It's @ Jeff's Auto Body on N. Lamar, which does OUTSTANDING work, so I'm not worried about it.

As a bonus, I'm getting a new front bumper, since my old one was a bit chewed up after a Dukes of Hazard still nose first landing (Al knows about this!) - too bad you can't control the altitude mid-air like on a bike! I'm also getting a ding removed, so it will come back looking a lot better.

ETA is mid-next week, but I have faith that it will be delayed...

Chris,

I know Donny at Jeff's through a mutual friend. He's a good guy.

Apexi,

I think everyone else is going to be at the CZOT meet Saturday. See that thread for more info.

No idea who owns the silver RR8 Z. I always see the car but never the owner.

Woo-hoo! My Blackfire Kit came in yesterday! I spent two hours today applying the stuff. The Z is looking gooood and I'm all set for Saturday! Can't say it hid all the hood scratches though. Speaking of which, I took my car to the Washtub on 79 for a handwash. I should have look at it more closely when they finished. The hood was scratched to hell! Probably used a dirty towel. Damn. I'll be washing it myself from here on out.

Trackbite,

I live in Round Rock, but don't work @ Dell. Chris B., JD, Chris S. and I met several times since September. I'll be at the CZOT event tomorrow. I've been the club member since June last year. Well, see you tomorrow.

Chris (Bishop).

See you again tomorrow. Let's have some fun without Derek.

Derek,

I have to agree with Chris B. For the last several times that Austin folks have a Z or S2K event (e.g. annual Z car show, Chris S.' Hill Country weekend, TWS driver ed. etc.), you were in Houston or some other town. This week you pick Dallas over your own local Z club event. Well, look like we can count you out permanently from now on. I'll check with Rodell to see if we can disqualify you as a member. j/k

Chris S.

You can ride with me for the whole day if you want. I can pick you up so you don't have to show off your Tundra. I'll give you a call tonight or tomorrow morning.

Al,

Good to see you on the forum.

I was at the last get together at Baby A's. Chris (Bishop) was there too. But I don't remember seeing you there. I have to go to Houston a lot for family stuff.

Derek,

OK, at least you made one recently. I remembered now, I couldn't make that one because I was packing that day for a trip to Thailand.
