Exclamation Fuel Filler Hose Recall.

For those of you who live in the North Dallas area and were effected by this recall, where did you take your car to have it repaired, and were you satisfied with the work?

I'm too scared to let them remove my rear wheels, rear brake calipers, APS exhaust and the entire rear suspension system w/o messing up anything.

If I were to take it in, I'd go to Nissan McKinney.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Just wondering if anyone went through with it. Also, how would you tell if you had a problem, aside from your car bursting into flames that is......

I just had my G done at Grubbs [Infiniti] for the recall ... did a superb job. I can't comment on Grubbs Nissan though, sorry...

you dont' even have to wait for a letter. just check and see if your vehicle falls within the range of the VINs

just go to nissanhelp.com and look it up. they also have a recall for engine sensors..

i'm getting all my recalls done and everything that needs fixing under warranty. funny thing is my basic 3 year/36,000 mile warranty ends tomorrow (3/18/06)

The Z only comes with 3/36??? I had always assumed it was the same as the G but I guess those are some of the differences between Nissan and Infiniti...

Here is the fuel filler hose recall info from Nissan's web site, including the list of 2003-2004 VIN numbers effected:

2003-2004 350Z Fuel Hose

Applies to 2003-2004 350Z models in the following Vehicle Identification Number ranges:
2003 350Z: JN1AZ3***3T000001 - 120447
2004 350Z: JN1AZ3***4T000001 - 160537

Reason for Recall
The fuel filler hose may crack and result in fuel leakage from the hose while refueling. If an ignition source is present, a fire could occur. In addition, fuel vapor hoses may crack and cause the malfunction indicator lamp to come on.

What Nissan Will Do
Your Nissan dealer will replace the fuel filler and vapor hoses with new ones. This free service should take about three hours to complete, but your Nissan dealer may require your vehicle for a longer period of time based upon their work schedule.

What You Should Do
Contact your Nissan dealer at your earliest convenience in order to arrange an appointment to have your vehicle repaired. Please bring this notice with you when you keep your service appointment. It will be necessary that your fuel tank be no more than one-quarter full when you bring your vehicle to the dealer in order to minimize the possibility of fuel spill during the repair. Instructions have been sent to your Nissan dealer. If you have additional questions you may contact the National Consumer Affairs Office, Nissan North America, Inc. at P.O. Box 191, Gardena, California 90248-0191. The toll free number is (800) 647-7261.

If you have paid to have your fuel filler or vapor hoses replaced prior to this campaign, you may be eligible for reimbursement of the related expense. You may also submit a complaint to the Administrator, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 400 Seventh Street, SW., Washington, DC 20590; or call the toll-free Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY: 1-800-424-9153); or go to http://www.safercar.gov

Has anyone gotten this done at a local Nissan dealership yet? Just wondering how the experience was. I'm still nervous about having the entire rear end disassembled. If you have had done, where did you go, and how long did it take them to complete it? Thanks.
