Default Speeding ticket in Plano, TX

So I got my 1st speeding ticket in Plano, TX. My question is::: Is Plano the same as Dallas where if the officer does not show then the ticket gets dismissed? Does the officer usually show? Has anyone gone to court in Plano for a ticket & if so what came out of it...I guess what I am asking is how are the courts in Plano for tickets?

Thanks in advanced...!!!

lol, i remember my first ticket in plano, 13 years ago, i was 16 then, driving my new mustang gt, cruising down park blvd. stopped at a red light at park and coit. some clown in a geo tracker starts to rev his engine. im like "oooookay?" have 3 of my homies in the car with me, and they egg me on trying to get me to race him. im like "its f'in geo tracker, im not wasting my gas!!" light turns green, and the tracker takes off, if you can call it that. i acclerate normally, friends start calling me a ***** etc etc. so finally, going against my better judgement, i floor the gas. i end up flying by the tracker but i notice a oncoming cop in the opposite direction. im like, ****, i must have been hitting around 80 in the 40. i get caught up at another light and im just ****tin in my pants. i make a right turn and notice the cop has popped over the median to come after me. he flashes his lights and i pull over. he tells me "since i won the race, i get the ticket" i was crying like a little baby, sigh. oh the memories, rofl

Plano is one of the worst places to get a ticket...cops have no sympathy for people..."if you can afford to drive that car you can surely afford a 200 ticket!"

plano cops are pretty good about leaving their KA radars on all the time... I think even the cheapest detectors will pick them up within 1/2 a mile.

most likely in plano the cop will show but see if you can get extensions on your court date. i've been able to get as many as 3 extensions in some citys and the longer you can delay it the less likely the officer will actually show.

hire a lawyer just incase... they usually do good like this one i got here in houston got me out of a 108 in a 65, just ask around for a good lawyer in dallas and like im sure that lawyer will take care of it or just take defensive driving because as long you were speeding less than 20 more than the limit you can take it and its no big deal just pay some kid to do it for you and dont worry about it. its just a speeding ticket. its no big deal. just take defensive driving or hire a lawyer. if i could take defensive driving i would but its just too bad that all my speeding tickets are not "defensive drivingable."
