We definitely get our share of lookers and with a car show going

welcome to the forum....great timing....

 

I live all of 5 minutes from this place so I will be dropping by, but as there are a ton of cars coming and a hotel doesn't really benefit from the extra traffic (restaurants get more business from car shows) there is a very good chance we will be asked to leave. So the problem arises where does everyone go? Bass Pro was the #1 alternate (we've had a meet there before and they didn't seem to care) but with the Bass Pro car show that's not happening.

I really do think it would be prudent to have a backup location defined before the meet. When we tried the meet at Willow Bend and got kicked from there we went to a new place but since it was pretty far from where we were meeting at the mall we missed quite a few people that came and couldn't find us. My problem is I cannot think of any other places that are close to there that wouldn't have some kind problem with us taking up 30 or more parking spaces.

I'll still swing by and see if everyone is there but with the number of people coming it would suck to have it ruined because there was no backup plan. About the only thing I can think of is to park at Bass Pro away from the actual car show and then if anyone asks what we are doing tell them we are there for the car show and we can then wander of there and look at the cars.

 

I'm down with having a predetermined backup location.

When we got kicked out of Willowbend, we initially went to this place right across the street. I really wanted to stay there so we could see Z's/G's near the mall that were looking for us. But then we ended up going nowhere near the mall and people never found us. So let's try to keep it pretty close because we would now need to be under the impression that people are still reading this thread one day before the meet.

I think one of the best things would be for people to exchange cell phone #'s. Anyone going to this meet can PM me for my cell phone number. I'll be getting there slightly before 2pm.

 

+1 Need a backup. I'd put money down that if the hotel management notices, then we will be run off.

We need ideas pho show. Z_Freak (the thread starter for this meeting) found out that he can't really stay too long at all now. So one of us needs to step up to the plate. Who is familiar with Grapevine? I figured if we just parked near a bunch of restuarants (like in the middle of an open parking lot) we could just duck inside when we're hungry/hot w/o having to drive anywhere or lose anyone.
