Default DFW Body/Paint Shop

I might be needing a good paint shop in the coming weeks for a new body kit and was wondering if there were any that seemed to stand out over all the others here in DFW. I'm not looking for the cheapest shop, just the best without being extremely overpriced.

Any suggestions?

I'm not sure if he is painting again yet, but I have seen some of his work and it's spot on. He's a Z owner too. I had planned on calling him soon to see if he will paint a couple pieces on my car.

yea, everything on my sig is on installed. long *** weekend, test pipes, wideband, pulleys, and some interior stuff. the pulleys make a ridiculous amount of throttle response. but i need to get a tune. im currently runnin high 14:1 af ratio. low 15:1 at top end at wot. so i need a tune bad. thinkinof a unichip with a tune should free up 15+ horses. prolly do a plenum before that though

FYI, I just spoke to Jack over there and he said that yours was the 1st and last kit he'll do on a Z. He said it was such a pain in the **** that he'd prefer not to attempt that kind of thing again. I explained to him that this kit will be prepped and ready for paint (unlike yours) and there shouldn't be a lot of messing around with it to fit and he said he'd take a look, but no promises. Then he quoted me a rough estimate that seemed a bit too high. I think he's trying to price himself out of a reasonable range so he doesn't have to do it.

Oh well, thanks anyway.

Anyone else?

haha, wow. well its kinda expected. they usually only do oem stuff that bolts right on and mine was a full fiberglass body kit and spoiler. it took alot of prep on the fiberglass and on top of that they didnt have any way to mount my plates, my trunk switch or the light for the plate. but i got it all handled myself. but they did a great job still.

Yeah, he told me October/November I think.

Hey Ideapimp, which INGS kit are you getting again? Also, Mike was at that last meet that we were at. I was talking to him.

Anyways, I know two guys that actually got their Nismo kits painted at dealership bodyshops and the results looked really good. So I might consider that option if I go with the Nismo kit. I just want a kit that fits right...so I'll just do Nismo because I'd rather have a car w/no bodykit than a car w/a kit that doesn't line up right. At that point you just converted your Z into a beat-up looking Civic.

You going to the meet this Saturday???

Most likely the +1. I've looked at a couple of others that they make though.

I'd go to the dealership but I've had nothing but bad experiences with all the Bankston ones. Even if they did good work I wouldn't want to give them any of my money.

What, there's only 1 shop in DFW that anyone trusts? Is that it? C'mon guys. I know a bunch of you have had work done on your car. Let's see some suggestions.

How about bad experiences? Where NOT to go, that kind of thing.

I got a clearbra done at MARS International. They look like they would do good paint work.
