Alright, well seeing how there was no "official" thread on my350z.com about this, I decided to start one.

The members of 350ZOS started this and here's the link, if you want to read what they're saying about it.

It will be at Texas Motorplex, located at Ennis. The doors open at 6 PM and they're open until 12 AM. It'll be 15 (I think) to race and 10 (to spectate). You don't have to race, as there will also be a car show going on there. So, I'm guessing it's going to be fun whether you race or not. I think Texas Motorplex usually has american cars (camaros, vette, stang, cobra, etc), so it'll be cool to see many Z's show up.

I see where you took your car to the track. Not bad numbers for your first try. Those are better times than what I got the first time out!!!!!!!!!!!! This should be fun you guys. Come on out and have some fun. For 3 of us, this is for bragging rights

RBALDINELLII - Where did you see that I went to a track? You stalkin me o.O? Haha, JK. Those times were so sh1tty, it almost made me cry. 14.021 @ 101.39.... but that was on a day with high 90s throughout (low 90s at night) with high humidity. I think my heavy rims are also to blame. We'll see if things are better this Friday.

 

14.0 will beat Llare and Desibhar_Z any given day Where did you end up running at?

 

Hahaha, aren't they FI? I know you're kidding. I went to Texas Motorplex on June 9th just to see what I would run.. and so that I wouldn't embarass myself this friday. After that day, I was definitely hooked for life! Going to the drag strip was definitely one of the more fun things I've done this summer.

Hopefully, this Friday's weather isn't as hot or as humid as last time I went. That was horrible.

 

Trust me on this one, we all suck when it comes to drag racing. I've been bear down twice, once by a Z with slicks and by one with N2O. They didn't have any issues with traction unlike myself. I was everywhere. It was crazy, but like you said, that was the most fun. I laughed all the way down the track.

 

Hey, you can't condemn me before I have even been to the track! Geez, at least start the jokes after my first few runs!

Hmm.. So I guess nobody's going from my350Z except me and maybe legionnaire..

 

So who are the ones that are FI'd and what are they running? I know that couple are SC and couple are ST.

 

This Friday, eh?... Hmm i've been itchin to go to the track... May take off of work if i can get some buddies to do the same...

 

Takase350z - so have you decided if you were comin up to the track or not?

 

I'm kind of disappointed that the people that said were going to come didn't show up. As for the ones that DID show up, they were real cool people and I think we had fun.

I actually got my best 1/4 time and trap speed last night. The others weren't doing as well, due to their own problems or condition I guess. I'll let others chime in if they want.


edit - My best was 13.8 @ 102 with a 60' of 2.0. That was my first of the night. I backed that up later that night with a 13.9 @ 102 with a 60' of 2.1. So happy right now.

I was running consistent 14.0s @ 100+. Even with a 4th gear misshift, skipping it and going to 5th I still pulled 14.2s @ 95.

My friend and I swapped cars (he drives a JDM H22 prelude) and I bested his best time my first time driving his car. My 2nd run with his car still beat his best. He only pulled mid to high 15s on my car.

 

hey u outta go to Baytown on a Friday night... or even a sunday bc the dragstrip over there isnt too crowded now because its summer and not too many people run their cars and its only like 15$. and if u are on a friday night post it bc id be fun with more than 1 z being me. itd be much more fun with 2 of them.

Baytown? Where's that? If it's not too far, I might try to go. Texas Motorplex is already pretty far from where I live, as it is a 80 minute drive + evening traffic in Dallas (during high traffic is when they open).
