Attn: South Side peeps and good info. for everyone else too..
we're wanting to start the meet promptly at 11. Silvrhand will be there early to stake out our spot and set up some shade.
For the south side pre-meet and cruise to Sylvan Park, we will meet in the Bay Area Barnes and Noble/Starbuck's parking lot at the SE corner of Bay Area and I-45 at 10:15am.
Here it is on a map:
Barnes and Noble
You can enter by the star on the map off of Bat Area Blvd. or from the northbound I-45 feeder right before the Bay Area turnoff.
Please be prompt. We will head out to the meet at Sylvan Park no later than 10:45, taking this route: Sylvan Park directions from south side
General Info.:
The meet is an all-day event, so I'm sure people will be arriving as their schedules allow. If you can't make the pre-meet, just follow the map to the main meet when you come. It'd be nice to have as many people there at once and the earlier, the better, so we can get set up and comfortable before the afternoon heat.
Latest forcast shows a high of 92 (I'm sure the heat index will be pretty high with the humidity, though), and a 30% chance of scattered showers Sat; my hunch is that if it's going to rain, they'll start to flare up in the afternoon heat, so getting as many people to the meet early is best so we can hang, figure out what we want to do for food, talk abouth the 610 loop cruise, Planet Zero meet that night, etc., oh, yeah... and have us one b!tchin' meet!
Hopefully you've all been keeping up with the thread and have read the rules and know what to bring; if not, go back and read the post numbers in the 60s.
There is a North Side pre-meet detailed in post #69. I am not aware of any other officail pre-meets; if there are, great, post 'em up. If not, no prob; just cruise on out to the meet from wherever you are and join the fun! For anyone needing directions, just click the Sylvan Park link above and revise the starting point to wherever you are heading out from.
I'm sure several people plan on making a day of it, but if you are only coming for a couple hours or so, try to make it early; I'm sure everyone wants to see the most cars there at once as possible, so let's make it happen!

O.K.
The South-Side Group is planning on pulling out at 10:45a.
The North-Side Group is planning on pulling out at 10:30a...but it's going to take us quite a bit longer to get there...so I'm hoping we'll get there around 11:15 - 11:30? Traffic should be fairly light...hopefully minimum construction .
I know we should probably leave earlier, but I've already told everyone that we're pulling out at 10:30a...and if I change the take-off time now...you know what will happen...SOMEONE will show up at 10:29a and say "Hey Dude, you said 10:30a !!!" So I'm just gonna stick with the original plan and be a little late getting there
I need to know if anyone is wanting to go North with me. Should I swing through the Barnes & Nobles Parking Lot or not?
Man-o-man...this is shaping up nicely !
Oh yeah...one last thought here...Creed...you are not to lead, you are not to even get close to the lead, I don't even want you in sight of the lead...of course you know I'm kidding you (inside joke).

I'd think the North side group would make the meet by 11:15 at the latest, which is prob just a few min after we'll get there, so it should work out nicely.

For those of you that are coming in from the North Side (or anyone else that cares to join in)...
We’ll meet at the huge Home Depot Parking Lot…over by the Whataburger.
Take the Durham/Shepard Exit and it’s on the Eastbound Side of 610 N.
We’ll meet there around 10:00am.
We should pull out NO LATER than 10:30am !!!.
Rules of the road for caravaning:
We all try to stay in one lane...preferably the right lane.
We all drive with our headlights on.
We'll have several non-Z's with us, carrying coolers and tents and stuff, so we SURE don't want to lose them.
We'll drive the posted speed limit (or pretty close to it), because we'll attract enough attention without flying down the highway
Hopefully, this will add a new element of fun to an exciting event

Hopefully one of my Daughters (the 22 or 11 YO) will come with me to shoot video. So, I'm hoping to be able to slowly pass everyone and get ya'll to smile real big to the camera - haha, no 3 fingured salutes now and then drop back to the end of the line where I'll be safe...
