Default Houston Memebers - New Monthly Meet - need input on venue

Sup fellas,

I have gotten a few request to start a monthly meet in a central location for all Z's & G's. Before I can start looking for venues and contacting property management about a permission letter, we need to get a head count of all people interested in attending this monthly meet. So far we have a good 3-4 people interested in helping with the organization of this planned meet. Anyone that would be willing to attend please post your name in number format (similar to that of a group buy).

Now, the venue is undecided at this point. I am open to suggestions, but keep in mind we want a good turnout so try to keep suggested venues in a central location (i.e. Galleria, Mid-town, inside the loop, etc). This way people from Clear Lake, Pasadena, Woodlands, Katy, and all surround ghettos will all be willing to attend. I never go to meets on the southside and I never (or almost never) see anyone at the NW meets that are from the southside.

Lets try and keep the cars limited to REAL sports cars and sport luxury cars. People driving these cars tend to have a little more respect for rules, other people, and their property. This will help keep out the vagrents and wankstas.

Ready, set, go!

I just bought my Z and am new to the forums so I have no idea what the above means. I'm stock atm and wouldn't be participating in any races but would like to come out and watch.

I hate the number system. Sorry Old School! LOL! I am in as long as it is not around the Galleria. I avoid that area like the plague. The hour drive it takes to get there is no fun either! And if Eric and Rudy are in, I HAVE to show up!

all the buisness in the strip center where i work close at 8 or 9. only room for 20 or so cars though. lighting isnt bad either, jersey mikes makes good sandwiches too. only bad thing is its off kirby, so you have to approach from a side street.
just let me know and ill ask the landlord and all stores.( only 3)

Cool...the number system is exactly what you guys have been doing. Thanks. Galleria area is out. Herman Park sounds doable, but I might have better luck getting permission from a private property management company vs. the city or park. How do you guys feel about the Marque on Silber/I-10? Its not completely central, but its a start.. They have a parking garage/lots of regular parking, plenty of restaurants, late night stuff going on so we can't get kicked off the property by Johnny Law. I'll head to Hermann this weekend to check out possible locations. Anymore suggestions?? Anything else you guys DON'T want helps too. Kind of gives me a better idea of where the location should be.

Kazuma - we are talking about organizing a car meet. No racing. Just hanging out, getting to know fellow members, and shoot the sh*t about cars.

Keep it up guys...lets get some more ppl on the list and this will turn out to be a good monthly meet. If I can get some sponsers (venders, publications, car wash places, etc.) envolved, then maybe we can have some give-aways each meet. My bike club does the same thing. Ridesmart gives all kinds of stuff away. I'm gonna post this on the G forum to see if anyone is interested over there. Holla!

Won't be at all of them, but I would stop by when I could. I-10 @ Silber sounds good to me for a starting place.

The Marquee center is tough to have a car meet at. I hear the owners are pretty hard to convince. And without proper permission, the parking lot security will run everyone off. Just what I have heard, but it doesn't hurt to try.

What about the BW3s in midtown? That is pretty damn central. And they never seem to mind the cars.

I know alot of property management companies and owners, so it shouldn't be a problem. Plus if we patronize the businesses around the Marquee, then it should benefit everyone. If I get a permission letter, I will approach security with the letter before the management company/owner shuts down so they can verify the letter.

Give me an address or cross streets Brian. I can go check it out the same time I check out Hermann Park. Is it the same one we had the bike meet at during MotoGP @ Laguna?

I wouldn't mind a Katy location, but I think alot of others would.

Yeah, but finding parking is another story. It's always packed there... but there is a garage.
