Default Steer CLEAR of Deepstage Motorports!!!

I will be posting this thread on every car forum I subscribe to...as well as some I don't, so everyone and anyone who ever thought about buying or ordering from Deepstage Motorsports in Killeen will know in advance how lousy their customer service is and how they screwed me over.

Any respectable wheel retailer or aftermarket parts retailer carries some kind of warranty or exchange/return policy.

I bought a set of $1000 Enkeis for my Supra, and a downpipe as well.
Upon pulling my car out of the shop, I really did not like the way they looked on the car. Actually that's an understatement. I HATED them.

After letting them know I was prepared to spend hundreds more dollars on future mods for my car, I asked them if I could exchange the wheels for some other wheels.
They said that once they are mounted on the vehicle, they are yours to keep, and they WOULD NOT bend in order to accomodate a good customer.

They were rude, they ignored my questions and while I was there, I saw them treat several other customers the same way.

I cannot believe people walk in there and allow them to talk to them like they are ****...they are CUSTOMERS!!!
They act like they are too good to help you out, and that is crap.

I am going to make it my personal mission to drag these guys down into the dirt as much as I can.

For those that have had similar experiences with Deepstage, please contribute your story.

Thanks.

-Z.

Well I have never been to this performance shop before and sorry to hear they treated you like crap! I can kind of understand where they are coming from on not letting you "exchange your rims" for some other ones. What they stated is kind of true for most places. Telling them that you are going to come back and spend more money is something they probably hear everyday. I'm pretty sure you were being honest with them and I'm sure they could of bent the rules a little bit. You have to remember, you were trying to exchange rims, not clothes. Then they would have to sell them as used rims and I'm sure lose a few hundred dollars off the sale, especially since you only had them on your supra for like maybe a hour.

Sorry to hear they treated you like crap and was rude to you. No matter how wrong or right the customer is, a companies customer service should always be nice and polite. But still, I can see there point and your point. But I'm sure they could of worked something out with you. Good luck!!!

My350z Marketplace here you come?

i wouldn't understand why they WOULD do something like that... i'm sorry but they are probably not in the habit of BUYing used rims... and in trading that's pretty much what they would be doing... because unless i'm mistaken you would want to trade those back to them and apply what you paid for them to the new set...

i completely understad why they will not do that... I too am sorry to hear of your misfortune... but they could have been polite about it...

to kind of... accomodate for your disliking the rims you bought it MIGHT have been nice to maybe recieve a small discount on a future purchase... but that would be the extent of my graciousness...

So let em get this straight...You ordered a set of wheels, mounted and balanced them to the car. Then decided you didnt like the way they looked? How is that a warranty or return issue? 99.9% of wheels retailers wont take back a mounted wheel for obvious reasons. So the shop should loos money cause YOU didnt like the way the wheels YOU picked looked on your car..LOL, are you serious..And FYI, for $1000 in cheap *** wheels, your not a V.I.P. customer FYI..

^^^^^ Agreed. Sorry to hear if the customer service was sub-satisfactory, but it sounds kind of like you want them to cover up for a bad decsion you made. Almost everyshop in the country has a no exchange or refund policy on mounted and balanced wheels. Especially if they've been driven on. If they did exhibate improper customer service address that issue, but please don't drag their name through the mud for your opinion. I'm sure if their customer service was that bad all the time they wouldn't still be open after all these many years.

Vendors or somebody back me up on this one..but from my understanding once the tires are mounted on the wheels the shop can no long return them back to the wheel supplier. They are stuck with them. That is why they have the poilcy of you mount them you own them. Now the shop can take them back and try to sell them to another custom, but mainly it'll just end up as overstock. Your last chance to back out was when the wheels were at the shop before the tires were mounted. Even then the shop reserves the right to charge you a restocking fee. Now as for the customer service, even though they were in the right it probably didn't give them a reason to have such a poor rapor with you.

To be fair the no exchange on mounted wheels is a common policy i know a number of retailers that follow this, i know this doesnt account for the service, but you have to be fair

Hey now...Lets not rag on people for buying cheap wheels. I bought a set of wheels and tires for $1200 at Discount Tire. Now not everyone can afford to just waste all their money on wheels/tires. The way I look at it, if they look good and work proper, then that is all I need. I could care less if I have Volk wheels. So lets try to stop going that route. If you want to brag and try to show off, do it with some more class.

The way I look at it, I'm a 22 year old with a new 2006 350Z. We should all just be grateful that we have a nice sports car, some people aren't so fortunate!!!! I know I'm counting my blessings....

agree 100%, no way they should have to take back the wheels. They didn't need to be rude but there's no way they need to take the wheels back. BTW, most people's tires on this site cost $1k.

I bought a set of cheaper wheels once . The shop told me they would put them on one side to see if I liked them first . They DID NOT mount tires on them . JUst stuck them on with out tires . They did tell me once they mounted them with tires....THEY WERE MINE....and had to pay for them .The OP was the one being rude and thought he was some sort of special person and needed special treatment . Telling them you plan on spending money there and already had spent money there is a big diff . GET REAL !!!!

Cool

BOOGER
It is real hard reading these stories with your avatar bouncing in my face (he he).

Really we shouldn't be to hard on the guy, we have all been there. At the same time, he was acting a little big, but hope he knows to buy quality rims the next time.

I mean I have spent 1k for rims I was just going to use on the track. Now I don't make a whole lot of money, but I do know I wouldn't want to damage my nice set of rims. And would prefer a cheaper cast aluminum wheel set to abuse.

Im in the Killeen area, cant recall ever going to deepstage.. But I agree with deepstage.. there is no way that they can refund you after mounting those wheels and you drove around with them. I understand your not satisfied with the look, just take a loss and sell them. Next time get pics of your car with different rims and pic what you love. Take it as a learning experience...

FYI,
I know the owner Drew at Deep stage motor sports. Dude is a cool guy. Note; even Discount tire won't take em back as new. They can not resale them as new once they are mounted.
On another note, right now, in his shop, is a set of tires and rims someone bought and did not like. He is selling them for $250 off the orginal cost. Note, he is losing $$$ on this. It actually sounds as though you were being a dick. I am in the customer service business. If a customer is cool about the situation, they get more out of the deal. If they are rude, they don't get crap. Just reading the orginal post tells me of what kind of a person you are.
