Default Eradication of Front License Plate Requirement in Texas

If you're interested, please go to the site below to sign the petition:

http://www.petitiononline.com/txplate/petition.html

Our Zs/Gs (and most other sports cars) look much better without the front license plates. I, for one, have not had mine installed since I bought my Z, but would much prefer that I don't have to worry about getting a ticket while driving throughout Texas. The petition may not go thru but at least voice your opinion on this matter.

I've been stopped twice in the last couple of months, but as of yet, haven't had a problem with not displaying my front plate.

^^ it should mean something to them. They are suppose to speak for the people. But I guess REAL democracy is dead.

-1 to the pessimists . . . what's 30 seconds of your time to complete the petition to support a worthy cause? Even if it does not happen, doing something about it makes me feel good. Doing nothing does you absolutely no good.

This is odd. I've owned my Z since 2003 and gotten pulled over many many times. Never once has a cop ever mentioned anything about not having a front plate. I don't even have the front plate mount drilled in. Many cars on the market now don't even give you a spot to put a front plate. I see plenty of them driving around town without one.

Which validates the fact that having a front license plate should not be a requirement.

+1 ---Texas has probably the most corrupt govt in the nation, weather it be city, county or state. Acountability for all but themselves.

I think there would need to be about 10 million people (about half the population of texas) signing it to catch anyones attention.

Lets start an email forward to everyone we know just asking them to take a sec to sign so that we don't have to have a front plate...keep it to texas residents though.

edit...what is the date on this petition, there is a stamp on the bottom right and it says 1999-2004 which means that this is no good anymore...probably already been presented. And, the person who wrote this sounds like they did it on a break from work. They said "20 states or more"...at least do a bit of research and be sure of your numbers. Also...they wrote about it affecting aerodynamics, hahahaha. They could have said something about it affecting the cooling b/c it blocks the radiator on some cars if they were going to throw some bullsiht out there. Anyhow, i don't feel good about this petition, but i signed it anyhow.

Never had a front plate. Since it's not a moving violation and does not affect your ins/driving record, I probably never will. {knocking on wood}.

I consider it more a public vendetta than a personal one. Plus a squanderance of money for the plates, Plus a stupid "Jeez , Im bored and I can pull this guy over for no front plate" BS excuse----Plus it fucs up your bumper
