What specifically are you looking at buying? This may help us refer you to a shop specializing on that part.

Then your answer is NOBODY in SA. For something like that you need to goto h-town or dallas. Or you can be smart and get rid of the emanage and take your car to uprev and have them reflash your stock ecu.

There are a few places that will dyno and tune your Z here in SA. I forget the names of them but one is out past Rolling Oaks Mall and one is off Nacodoches Road.

^+1 There are no shops in SA that can tune & dyno your Z. Even if they claim they do, they will ship your ECU someplace else around the country to get it tuned. As far as dyno, they'll refer you to a shop in New Braunfels. I should know since I've already checked on this last year.

Like solidsnake recommended, ditch your emanage & have UpRev reflash your ECU. For what you're spending on the piggyback system, you can get a baseline dyno, tune & after dyno.

If you're set on a piggyback system, SGP in Houston is the only place I'll recommend.

Again, there are no reputables tuners in SA so go to Austin or Houston instead.

There are many good body repair shops in SA. If you're in the NE area, Jack's Paint Place in Converse is the shop I recommend.

I had the honor of being the second car on it. Would have been the first but I had other issues.

What makes a Z a "ricer" as opposed to JDM? I hope I haven't made mine like a ricer. Maybe I'm just misunderstanding the question.

Please enlighten me.

hey everyone im metman1490 son just bought my z out here in vegas to answears ur question pops....

1. ricer 1819 up, 187 down

(Ricer: from the latin word Ricarius meaning to suck at everything you attempt)

A person who makes unecessary modifications to their most often import car (hence the term "rice") to make it (mostly make it look) faster. The most common modifications are (but not limited to):

- Huge exhaust that serves no purpose but to make the car louder
- Large spoiler on the back that looks like something Boeing made for the 747
- Lots of after-market company stickers they don't have parts from, but must be cool
- Expensive rims that usually cost more than the car itself
- Bodykit to make the car appear lower, usually accented with chicken wire
- Clear tail lights and corner signals
- A "performace intake"- a tube that feeds cold air to their engine usually located in areas of excessive heat (behind or on top of the engine)
- Most of these riced cars (a.k.a. rice rockets or rice burners) are imports; Honda Civics, Accords, Integras, CRXs, RSXs, Del Sols Mitsubishi Eclipses, Lancers, Subaru Imprezas, however there are some domestics such as Chevrolet Caviliers, Dodge Neons, Ford Focus; small, slow, economy cars designed specifically to go slow. Please note that some Supras, Skylines, WRX's and other higher performance imports are designed to go fast, and are therfore not always considered rice. It really depends on the severity of the case.
