Default Texas Inspection Rant

So after seeing how the jiffy lube guys hammered my wifes Maxima during the Inspection to get TX tags, I was very skeptical about those fockers driving my Z. I really didn't have time to wait for an appt at the dealer so I took my ZR to a local Exxon station nearby.

I spoke to the mechanic and he was very cordial, yada yada yada. I ask him if I can ride when he test drives my ZR. He states no, because the last time they did that, a lady complained of sexual harassment. OMFG, whatever!

I was just about to leave and he stated he could watch me drive my ZR and get this, he only drives it around the parking lot to check the brakes and horn.

Anyway, what a ****ing waste of $15.50! ****ing easy $ for the state!

Share your horror stories when these pinata heads drive your Z/ZR for a Texas Inspection sticker?

in san antonio, i go to the drive up stations....they are in a tiny parking lot and they typically just get in the car,, drive forward then drive reverse and thats it...about 60 feet of driving total....

there are little inspection booths all over san antonio.
honk honk, lights on/off, wipers on/off, hand em' the money, put on a sticker, and you're outta there.

maybe 5 minutes at most.

We have a small joint on the NE side of San Antonio called Pit Pro's. They usally get in it and drive it thru their parking lot. They are usally pretty easy to deal with.
