I'm on my 3rd tranny (ever since I owned it; previous owners may have gotten a new tranny also). Mine doesn't really have problems and it's been about 9 months since the tranny swap. I also beat the **** out of my car at the drag strip when I go. My car can take a little cold weather.

Well after doing some "research", it seems temp does come into play. So if the tranny isn't warm, it'll do the 6-5th grind. Yesterday when it was 80, no probs at all. The ones that say they haven't had any problems. I'm curious how agressive you are with your driving in cold weather? If you aren't doing any rapid downshifts, I'm sure you wouldn't have any issues.

I've had the cold morning tranny whine since I bought my car. I had the tranny replaced in '05 and it stopped for a year but this winter its whining again. It goes away after a few minutes of driving.

Do you guys think different tranny fluid would make a difference?
