It's all about who you know and what you are interested in doing. I grew up in Dallas, went to school in Austin, and lived in Houston for a couple of years. Apples to apples they're all about the same. Texas in general is pretty tame compared to other major cities.

Plano is actually a very nice area to live... so long as you don't let yourself get indoctrinated by the other residents, it's really nice - great restaurants, and even better car dealerships

I grew up in the Kansas City area and spent a lot of time in Dallas through the years playing ice hockey.

A lot of my friends went to college in the Dallas metro area in one place or another as well, so I'm pretty familiar with a lot of the places there.

I'm just playin... same vibe I got every time I was there, too. Although the last time I met a girl from there happened to be in Cabo, and she was essentially a carbon copy of the coach from Friday Night Lights' wife (the TV show) except 20 years younger... Wow - that's all I can say
