Overkill much?

no pun intended.

i dont see the need for the cops to open a ****ing clip on the guy. i believe that classifies as excessive police brutality.

Why can't the police shoot out the tires first?

Car = deadly weapon...

driving car at human = assault with deadly weapon

Assault with deadly weapon gives you (and the cops) the right to protect yourself. As long as the car was moving at the cop, the cop could continue shooting.

Shooting tires out does not Stop a vehicle, it slows a vehicle.

That officer did what he needed to do to feel a little safer... if that means killing the guy that's trying to run him over with a deadly weapon then so be it...

I do not question his judgement in this instance...

yea it's a bit excessive. especially since the cop easily could have moved out of the way. it's not like the Z was aiming at the cop, he was obviously trying to get away.

but anyone crazy enough to go forward while a cop is in front probably deserves to get shot at. didn't he learn from COPS? most people get out and run on foot =P

If a car is moving at you, it's dangerous. And if the guy behind the wheel is not responding to police instruction, they are justified in what they did. Sure he could get out of the way, but who's to say the driver won't jerk the car around, knock him over, and kill the officer.

Here is the thing, once a police officers turns his lights on you have to do what he asks pretty much, if he asks to search ur vehicle, you can say NO and he is supposed to follow that, if he doesnt you cant and shouldnt do anything, it will come back on him in a later date. The second that the Z driver put the car in a forward gear and moved the vehicle towards the officer, he was at the mercy of the officer, if you will notice, he bumped the gas a little bit to try to scare the officer 2 or 3 times before he went off the screen, the officer not moving from infront of the car (braver than me) continued to tell him to turn off the car and get out, the officer gave him chance after chance and even put his life at risk and still gave him chances at that point. He did everything correctly and even went beyond that, you have to realize that police officers arent inhuman, they are peple just like your brother and sister, mother and father or even your children, and they go out every night putting their lives on the line so that you can be safe.

i think the guy lived because if you listen to the end of the clip he drove off and could hear the gear shift in the tone of the exhaust
