Actually, I agree with the above statement. It isn't a track monster. However, it does outperform many other cars by a good margin, as proven on multiple tracks already - check youtube for vids. But yea, they are mass produced and could be a bit more hardcore.

Yea, I mislabeled the road course track and 1/4 mile drag strip in my last post.

Either way, just because you mod, it doesn't mean it's better than a car that was designed by corporate engineers. And regardless of what track, driver's skills are more important than modding your car.
You = the fail

The parts Anyone with some money would put on would out perform the nismo, which is just the type s suspension with different parts numbers. Put on some zeals or kws on and some sways hotchkiss or 350evo and some ****ing tires/ brakes and it will take out the nismo in everything but comfort. Yes the nismo is good, yes it could be alot better. And I said equal drivers.

You noob. You know I meant whatever parts you just throw on doesn't mean it'll always outperform the Nismo. It has to be carefully chosen - not random parts.

BTW, the Nismo doesn't have anything different in the areas of comfort. If anything, modding will make it more comfortable.

I think you guys are also forgeting about Corporate Budget... I'm sure they didn't pull out all stops and produce a all-inclusive Z. My money is on them having a carefully selected amount of funds they were willing to invest and then decided on what was going to give the car the overall better feeling as opposed to the standard Z equip (aside from creature comforts).

And in doing so decided on suspension, sways, (intake, exhaust maybe?) wheels... and i think i saw someone mention the additonal welds for structural strength? (something that could be easily overlooked by the average tuner)

They also had to consider amount of money into the car = amount of buyers... spend too much and likely not have buyers in the price range you were looking for... too little and it will not be a big enough difference for people to consider buying it.... (AKA why buy the Nismo when the Base is cheaper then mod... nuff said on that though...)

I dunno... i agree with 3-5-0... if you're specifically looking to outperform the Nismo... you'd definitely need to pay strict attention to detail and select your parts carefully... attention to quality is very important... just anything you slap on because someone SAYS their better isn't going to work... you would definitely need to see the specs and decide for yourself...

alot of money doesn't always build the best car... it comes with experience...

Not another one for me to disprove and shoot down. You're funny (and persistent).
