Default Any experience out there with New Concepts for custom bodywork?

I just got my Central20 bumper in and I need to Find a good shop. Tony's body shop did not seem like a good option as they don't like to work on aftermarket parts. I have heard that New Concepts in Plano is good for this, but I want to make sure. I spoke with Bruce there and he wasn't sure what FRP is, so I am kinda nervous.

I know that it stands for Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic. How good it is, I have no idea. I mean is it less brittle than fiberglass? Does it have the paint chipping problems?

Paint chipping all depends on how well the material is made, and how good of a painter you use. I have no earthly idea what FRP is, but It sounds like it has the adhesive properties of fiberglass and the flexibility of plastic... definitly sounds like you paid top dollar for it.

It is still fiberglass, just has more flexibility than traditional fiberglass (maybe between fiberglass and polyurethane).

Chipping does not have a lot to do with the material, but more the quality of the paint work (workmanship) and the amount of flex agent used (helps prevent chipping and also makes the paint more durable).

Ahhhh, good to hear. The guy at Tony's was talking crap about getting aftermarket bumpers saying they don't fit right and will chip much easier than OEM bumpers.
