Cant believe this happened last night...Had someone cut me off at 635 and the tollway...only option was to either hit them or side swipe the concrete divider....I chose the divider...basically the whole passenger side will have to be repainted...Im just sick about it....Anyone have experience with a good shop that can actually match paint?

Thanks moog...I think I know where these guys are....just off 35...So far looks like front fender, door, rear quarter, one wheel, and rear bumper....hopefully insurance will just replace the bumper...Thanks again.

QUADZILLA, have you contacted J&M yet? I'm in need of a good bodyshop thanks to an 18 wheeler tire in the middle of 75 this morning.....

Yes I have....I have talked with several shops...I think I will go with J&M. His shop isnt the most organized but he does know what he is doing.

Also I went in with this approach...I said I am so picky you probably dont even want to have my business...I will not accept anything but show quality work. I was in the business years ago and have an eye for repaints. paint lines, orange peel, trash in the paint, bad color match ect. will not be acceptable...Jose wasnt scared away at all...he said all of his customers are picky and he is confident that he can satisfy me....

Im meeting with him again on Saturday to go over some other work as well. I decided since I have to repaint half the car and replace the rear bumper, Im going to have him install a greddy kit as well...

I would recommend at least talking with him...Sorry about your car. I can definately feel your pain

Jose is a perfectionist. There's a reason why we use him to paint our show cars.

 

Thats what Im doing...waiting till Tuesday to take it in...no sense in sitting there all weekend before the work starts....moog tells the truth....I watched Jose and his guy working....they are perfectionists...I have an 05 Roadster red..get to your insurance quick so they can work your estimate and cut a check...took mine in yesterday...handed me a check...farmers ins....good luck..keep an eye on my Z when your up there....I dont care how good someone is...I always worry about my ride. I know its just a car...but damn I like this one.

i'm almost 500 miles away in corpus christi and i go to dallas to only have jose and his staff work on the car!

 

For as good as these guys are, how are the prices? Is it gonna be alot more than my ins. company wants to pay?

 

JMS his prices are in line with industry standards... His shop is low overhead compared to most big chain shops..My insurance said if he felt there was more money needed to fix the car correctly then file a supplement....they even gave me the paperwork for him to request if needed...he is around 500 per panel when reworking the panel and not replacing it.

 

If you are still not certain. I have a buddy who has a paint shop in Garland. I don't have the information off top of my head but I can get it later if you'd like.

 

Any updated w/ J&M?
