i was talking to pat yesterday at RNH, and i really want to start driving... but the season for the most part is over. so i may just wait til the spring now, and it would give me time to get some other wheels/tires so that i dont burn up my dailies
Seriously though, the season isn't over (it's Texas) and you won't tear up your dailies with just a few events.
It's always good to get seat time though. You really won't hurt your daily tires with a few events. I'd say it's better to get some in now before spring time hits and you're the only one without a couple events under his belt. It may actually help you to run on the street tires before you move into some dedicated track wheels/tires. I feel like my street tires have helped me learn to rive smoother lines and be more controlled rather than just trusting sticky tires to do all the work.
On a side note... where the heck is Mike today?
Travis...seriously you will not mess your tires up at TMS...it is the best place to start at since it is so smooth. Just think of this...you will only be running 8 times around a 60 sec track....thats less than 10 minutes of So-called "Hard-Driving" on the tires. Your tread wear & quality of tire will not even diminish at all !
Eric is right...seat time would be very much beneficial for you. And the season isn't over yet...there are at least 2-4 more events that these clubs put on. They may not be AutoX.....but they will be track events like what Eric, Chris P, and myself just did. And those track events are even easier on your tires than AutoX.
And the Fall is the best time to run your car...because of the cooler temps.

I have a huge favor to ask of someone here in the metroplex. I am finishing up a full LED headlight conversion for a member here on the forums who is not local. I need to ensure that the lights do not hyper flash with the turn signal on.
Is there anyone with a 2006+ 350Z who possibly has their front bumper off, or would be willing to take it off while they're doing another project and simply let me plug one of my headlights in and test it? It would take less than 10 minutes of your time.

On the 5th lap, I wanted to replicate the failed 4th lap but do it faster. I think I overdrove then forgot to downshift to 3rd, then threw the car off balance, lol. I ran out of skill and this was the result
BTW, this is my first time editing videos, so I'd appreciate any and all feedbacks.

Did you break something going off track? i haven't brokenn stuff going off track before usually just nice slides through grass and bottoming out over the rumble strips
at any rate good job drivin' ya'll looked fast to me - i haven't done that gd 1.3 yet - looks awesome -
i can't wait to eliminate that 1.8 though- it made me very mad in my subaru last time out, and never got to drive the supra there - i don't drive awd very well at all - except out at college station - i did really good there in the subaru but that track is retarded flowing and pretty non technical - just fun... anywhoooooo thanks for the vids
side bar - there was clearly some room on your shift **** for more gauges - just sayin

I are disappoint sir.
Travis - seriously - it is the most fun you will have with your car -
we need to coordinate - we'll go out together - i think personally that Apex academy will be a great start to your driving skills -
on a side note - before that - i have never ever done an autocross and i'm itching to finish off these re-11's
