Going to goodyear tire to have tires mounted/balanced and then probably get a conventional oil change. I prefer to change out oil around 2500-2750 miles right when oil consumption kicks in due to oil breaking down. instead of topping off the oil when I drop half a quart. I rather just get fresh oil / filter. conventional is much better at oil consumption versus synthetic. Good year has a nice coupon going on right now for $25 off $50 worth of labor. Works out perfect for tire mounting / balancing for lifetime.

bunch of coupons that print on register tapes. Input your zipcode and get coupons on oil changes, car washes, labor on cars, nail salon, food and more that is local to you.

I'm not too sure about the oil thing Fez....I think that Synthetic oil will not only last longer between oil changes, it doesn't beak down as fast.

But I think it really depends on the kind of driving you do....But I would still lean more towards Synthetic oil today rather than regular oil....even if it is more expensive.

I guess if I had a beater that was only worth 3k then I would just use regular oil.

Typically I would agree with you but on the rev up series it is different due to nissan design defects from piston rings and valve guide seals. My car likes to sip on synthetic oil thanks to nissan quality engineering from the factory. Typically synthetic has a much longer life, better burn off protection and quality additives.

I have ran Mobile 1 EP for 8000 miles with no issues on my crossfire with 7 quarts of oil or my acura vigor that held 5 quarts. When I was spending money on mobil 1 EP and german castrol for the G35 it would disappear out of thin air. Conventional slowed down the oil consumption. Once oils starts breaking down it gets thinner and this will cause it to seep pass gaskets, rings and seals. All thing aside. Lets say conventional is $20 per oil change and synthetic is $50 per oil change. You can get 2.5 conventional oil changes which typically last 3000 miles for the same price as 1 synthetic. Mileage wise you are getting about the same use out of both of them. No cost benefit but my personal vehicle prefers conventional and tends to burn less compared to synthetic.
