I really don't know much about it other than the basics. Good power from what I've seen on other vehicles but crap economy and i would think it might be difficult to find fuel.

yeah i was talking to a guy and he was like its cheaper that premium, i pointed out that economy is going to go down. from what i read you have to replace the pump, add a regulator, and the injectors... then obviously a tune. to me i would rather invest in long tube header and get power that way vs the e85 swap

You also have to replace the lining of the fuel tank and replace the fuel lines. Also recommended to change the seals in the engine apparently since the higher ethanol content will eat them up. Seems like a waste of money to me on an na car.

Doesn't sound like it'd be worth the money and effort. I'd rather go with a supercharger.

Sup fools?

Just realized I need to do an inspection, should be back in just over a week. I don't have any codes, but I do have ART pipes. I can't tell if I need to worry about not passing. I also wanted to know if they keep track if you fail, because I don't want to get anyone in trouble if I fail first, then magically pass later.

I pass every year with test pipes for the last the years. Even at kwik car. No codes = no problems. Although they said they wouldn't pass me last time because i didn't have a heat shield/shroud around my cone filter.

Cool, for some reason I thought we did a smog test along with it. Do they do visual, or more importantly audible tests? I thought about going to the Russian either way.

You still selling guns or know peeps? I need to get one after I get my CHL taken care of. 3" XD or 3.8" XDM is what I've been leaning towards.

They never said anything to me about a visual but i had resonated test pipes so if they did do it they might have thought they were high flow cats. Never did an audible test and you know how loud my last z was lol. Rowlett police department on the other hand pulled me over for it (and speeding ridiculously over the limit).

The only hook ups i had for guns was at dfw gun range but it burned down and the people i knew that worked there are all doing different stuff now. I would recommend the xdm 3.8 in 40 s&w personally. 3" is too small. I had that sub compact glock 26 and hated how small it was, even with the pinky finger grip extension. I haven't shot in months. I'm down to hunting rifles and my glock 17 now. Sold the 1911 and the ar.

Haha yeah I remember the noise and the little speeding issue. You had headers too though, although I doubt that adds too much at that point.

I used to shoot there a lot, and it sounds like they are rebuilding. I think the guy I did the CHL class with has a selling license, and his prices looked decent, so I may check with him. I've been leaning towards the XDM, always liked them. I shot an XD here, since that's all they have with CA legal stuff, and it was okay, although my pinky hung off the end.

I know where to get it taken care of. Maybe the same guy. But I want the satisfaction of passing lol. I just remembered I don't know if the second O2 sensors are disabled or not, which I'm guessing would give the two "not ready's" that would fail me.

If you don't have CEL. You will pass simple as that. This isn't CA where they are ****'s. You got your O2 sensor's disabled? Through uprev? I'm not so sure about that one. Never heard anybody disabling O2 sensors.

Yeah, I think I did, but I'm not sure. I know I haven't had any CEL's since the ART pipes went on. I don't know if they would throw a CEL anyway though. I remember one of my HFC's gave a code, so I might have had them disabled but maybe not since I had a CEL from other stuff anyway. Maybe I should just go see Steve and have him check if they are disabled or not.

From what I could tell online, it sounds like when they hook up to the OBDII it does a check where stuff comes back as ready or not ready. I'm assuming if they are disabled they will read not ready. We are allowed one and still pass, but I don't know if that would be one or two.

Here's where I was getting the info, it's pretty confusing now that I look back at it again and I still am not sure that I fully understand what is going on: http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/rsd/vi/.../faq_obdii.htm

I think they were disabled, but I don't know if they were for sure or if they still are. I had lots of codes when he put the wrong ROM on my ECU at first so I don't know if I bothered having them disabled.
