Ok, So with all the stuff I just got done at the dealership under warranty, they did tell me I need to replace the rear pads on the Z. I have like 2-3 mm left.

I was going to just get Oem's but for the same price, I can get the Nismo pads around $ 75 give or take.

So my question is; does anyone have rock soild proof that one Pad is better than the other ? Hawk, Stoptech, Brembo, etc....

I'm not caring so much about duration.....but would like performance & reliability in the Pad.

Any suggestions would help.
Thanks, CF

Chris, I know that you're not concerned with any sort of racing. So, my advice to you would be to get something that fits your price range while providing you with enough reliability, longevity, and least amount of brake dust for most of your daily driving needs.

I've tried the OEM ones, Satisfied, and Hawk so far and I'm most impressed with the Hawk HPS pads. These seem to have greater initial bite with a noticeably less amount of brake dust. The EBC stuff is supposed to be pretty good, but Hawk seems to fit most people's needs regardless of their driving habits. As far as the more luxury and name brand ones like Nismo, Brembo, Stoptech, Project Mu, etc., I think the higher prices are just a sales tactic than anything. When you compare the pads' performance all around, they don't do that much better to justify the price difference, if at all.

Anyway, if you do get the Hawk ones, then I suggest you look up the model number for both the fronts and rears and search on eBay using those model numbers. It'll yield much cheaper prices than you will with keywords like "350Z brake pads." This goes for a lot of things, too, btw.

centric makes a very nice street pad but i forget what name its marketed under. its suppose to be prebedded but it bites hard with proper break in. has almost no dust and suppose to last awhile. i just wouldnt recommend it for racing.

Ok, Thanks you guys !

I'm already looking at some Hawk ceramics....which is what I have on the fronts. I believe that the rears are Oem's. I just heard that the Nismo pads were actually pretty good for the money.

Anyways, the dearlership wanted like $ 250 plus to just change the pads. Ya right !

I'll get them done myself thank you.

I have centric as well. Not a fan of them either. The bite sucks compared to oem and you really gotta get on it to brake. Love the zero brake dust though.

That would trip me out if I had to "get on it" to brake.. Sounds like they are perfect for you Q - considering the no brake dust..

MORNING DFW!

mine were like that at first, now they bite hard, not quite oem hard but more than acceptable now. for the first 500 miles i hate them. maybe they are better with brembos?

If a Aston Martin DBS isn't baller enough for you, why not get the whole thing with a carbon fiber body?
