business jet interiors. 727, BBJ's, 767, Airbus, etc., or whatever projects I can get. I worked at Boeing in Seattle for almost 2 years on the 777. That was the only commercial interior I've ever worked on. Everything else has been airplane interiors for personal or corporate use.

Here is a picture of a dining area on a 747 I did some engineering on. The table is approximately 19 feet long.

Boeing hired me back in 1998 to work on the 747x program, which was killed shortly after my arrival (during my 2 week training period). Luckily, I was able to get on the 777 payloads group. I worked in Everett (Bomarc building), but not at the main plant, it was a bit further south of there. I lived in Lynnwood and Everett during my stay.

I read yesterday that the 747-8 is falling on some pretty hard times, as is the 787. 2 years behind schedule. Gotta love those composite fuselage airplanes.

Yeah, the ups and downs drive me nuts. I have several friends that are out of work these days.

I would have loved to see the 787 fuselage. Any pics? I did see the inside of a gutted 747. That was pretty sweet too.

Oh i wish i could have gotten pics.........at that time, heck still now, they would have fired me on the spot if they caught me taking pictures of their beloved 787....lol....

I learned a lot on the 787......I have opportunities here to do more with it, but i don't care to go work with that group....

i got to take a composites repair course in EVERETT......was awesome!

Sweet. That would be a fun course to take. The only thing I got to do was go to the sheet metal plant in Auburn to learn how to rivet and hi-lok sheet metal and extrusions together.

That looks awesome! How much did it cost you to get that on your car?

Chris, are there any drag events going on the week of Thanksgiving, or during December? I really need to beef up my time a bit, and the colder weather should help alot.

I don't recall ever drag racing in December. I'm pretty sure the tracks are closed from December to Feb/March.

Some tracks will be open in November, but a lot of events will be bracket racing. That means you won't be able to race after you get knocked out since it's a tournament. It's pretty hard to win as a novice at tournaments (dial-in, launch, more crowd, louder/faster cars, better prep, etc). It also costs more to race on a bracket race day, due to the possibility of winning the class prize.

From what I can tell, there isn't going to be a test and tune day during the week of Thanksgiving or the month of December. However, scheduling can change (and sometimes without much notice), so I'll let you know if I see any changes.

I've been waiting to get back to the drag strip to pull some better times, but I was anticipating on doing that early next year.

Yeah, I may just have to wait. Oh well, gives more times for mods that can help my times even more.
