What's up guys?

Thanks for the good luck wishes. I already miss being in TX and I've only been in Chicago since Friday.

And yeah, I drove my Z up to Chicago -- spent 14.5 hours in car, 13.5 of which were spent driving. The stock seats are NOT comfortable at all for long distance driving. My back was killing me and it still feels off.

BTW, who needs coilovers/springs when you can get a drop like me for free (1st pic)?!?

Yep. Every nook and cranny of my Z (nitrous bottle still in same location, though ) was filled with my belongings, including the space between the seats / plastic panels and under the seats. I regret not weighing my car.

pic 1 : something I saw on my trip (6 hrs 39 min and 427.4 miles into my cross-country trip)

pic 2 : see all those corns? E85 conversion anyone?

It only took you 13.5hrs to drive to Chicago? I thought it was like 18 hours or something. Good thing you got there safe. How's the weather in Chicago? It's like crazy 100+ degree's here still.

@Chris,
Glad to see you made it up there safe.....and in record time ! Sheez, my neighbors are from Wisconsin / Chicago area and they take like 16-18 hrs. But they have 2 boys & stop for breaks & food.

Love that "Kum & Go" store.....classic.

You should have gone thru one of those truck scales to weigh the Z.

Keep us informed on your progress up in the windy city.

He is going to look at a front clip for it today, but it needs 2 sensors and a tune to get it to pass inspection. He hasnt been able to drive it for 18 months (DUI) dumb ***. Anyway, trying to get him rollin again.

Q - Yeah, it wasn't too long of a drive. Google maps told me 15, but it didn't take me that long. The weather here is pretty awesome (for now). It's currently 81º here right now. Our highs are like DFW's lows, rofl.

Jason - Yeah, I literally had no space left and could barely see out the passenger window. And yes, that's a cork board -- good eye. BTW, why not the E85 conversion? That's like running race gas! I can spray so much more with that and make more power N/A. Sound Performance is pretty close (29 min, 18.7 miles) and I know with their Pro-EFI and the can gauge, it shouldn't be hard and it'd be ballin'! I can't afford it, though, so I shouldn't even be talking about this. Gas here is ridiculous at nearly $3.40 / gal for regular, although if I drive out of the city a bit, the price goes down to $2.80ish.

Jake - No, sir. I took I-44 majority of the way. The drive in the Z was rough, even though it was mostly highway. Our seats are not deisnged for this at all. I'm gonna use some cushions next time around. It's funny you saw the "Kum & Go," too.

Chris - Yeah, I thought about going to a weigh station and I even planned on doing it before I left, but once I was on the road, I forgot about it trying to entertain myself (by listening to music and stand up comedy). I had a pretty good amount of heavy items (lots of fabric items like clothes, comforter, towels, etc vacuum sealed), but it wasn't too bad (looking at the "drop").

you have to pay 1k per yr for 3 yrs (to keep your license)....have to go to probation for 2 yrs (you pay monthly btw - about 50-75 bucks). have to go to AA for specific number of times... Take classes (that costs $$ too)... Pay lawyers, court costs, fees, fines...etc..etc...I can keep going..I think you even have to MADD meetings...

Chris was spraying the whole way there lol

Glad you got there alright bro. Haha it's amazing how much stuff you can cram in a z lol. Reminds me of when I moved off to college.

+1 on the seats. Driving any longer than 1 hour and those seats are killer. Especially the leather ones. You start sticking to them after a while lol
