We ate at Bikini's last year but I've heard some people ask for an outside location for BBQ and drinks this time.
The closest bbq outside would be Rudy's

Count me in!

As far as BBQ, there's not a better place but Lockhart, BBQ Capital of Texas. Plus, it's a nice drive from the San Marcos outlet mall to Lockhart.

There are several famous BBQ restaurants in Lockhart and one of them is Kreuz Market. I don't think they have an outdoor seating area but this place is huge! Trust me, they have one of the best BBQ in Texas!

Phil (solidsnake) and I organized a San Marcos meet a couple of years ago. After the meet & lunch at Cracker Barrel, I arranged for us to have some track time at Harris Hill Road (H2R). Now, that was a blast! I think there's a thread somewhere here with pictures.

Yep, that was the southbound run in this years BBORR. We had two cameras on the car, one behind the rear view mirror and the other down by the intercooler...I had such bad deflection of the front bumper @ 140mph that it actually bent down and covered the camera..( previous owner had hacked up the left fron inner fenderwell, I can only assume to hear the blowoff valves better) I didnt think it was that big of a deal until I saw pics at speed...the front left bumper actually bent so far back it "wore off" about 1.5 inches of the bumper...lol definitely will have a new bumper with splitter and a spoiler for next years race!

Here's the link to the first ever San Marcos meet & H2R track day in January 2008:

Lots of pictures posted, to include the Supra, JDM RX7 and the Viper that drove with us at the track after the meet.

Hmmm, I live in Austin and work in San Marcos...

There are some decent roads near the Saltlick in Driftwood/Austin. I've taken my motorcycle out that way many times.

There's a couple of low water crossings on FM150 that may have a lower dip, but I think it would be fine.

I'm in Kyle just 5min north. Might try to make it, and will definetly try to hit the next Z meet at H2R.

I run that course regularly with Elite Trackdays motorcycle org.

I've been out to H2R several times on my bike, usually doing the work to ride program.

Hey Phil have you personally been to this Rudy's? How is the parking there and is the place big enough to accommodate all 60 of us?

Thanks z-u-later these sound like good suggestions, we are in the process of making reservations for a restaurant and we'll take these into consideration.

+10000 to Z-U-later's suggestions.......Kreuz Market has a huge parking lot and can definitely accommodate a large group......usually with out waiting in line at all........as they have large rooms and long tables..........plus definitely a good drive/route for a cruise..........

I'm looking into making it down to attend, but not sure yet......the last ones were fun...
