Member-wise, Val is probably the best representative for our forum. Car-wise is where I can't help but feel they went more for convenience, jmho.
I think I can guess at the results. Start taking bets?

It's an over head cams, alloy/alum RACE engine (read info on it). Even the Shelby GT 500 heads were not good enough for this new Mustang. This engine vs a 15 year old nissan 3.5 liter is a joke! It's a guppy vs a piranha!!!! Add a tune, gears, & God knows what else, and you get a Mustang that might/can beat a GT-R... That Mustang will have 400hp to 450hp to the wheels....
The driver is playing possum!!!!!!

Wait a minute.....I thought the Stang is supposed to be stock ????
And the Z can have mods.....yes or no ???
The 5.0 is said to have 412 hp 390 lbs. Ft. Torque

I would take your bet on the GTR vs. 5.0 in a 1/4 mile stock to stock.....GTR will always win. It beat out an Shelby Cobra with Over 500hp in the 1/4 mile.

This engine is all new. Lighter, stronger, & build (with some tunning) to outperform the Shelby GT 500. This engine was first developed in Ford's Romeo plant. It was made bigger, better, newest heads. This engine has more potential than any engine produced by U.S top three ever. I may even switch to a race/supercharged version Mustang, when one comes out.
Help me out here....I have no doubts in it's ability, I've read a few articles about it now and I am interested to see them out on the streets. Also, what about the Boss Mustang 302 that is supposed to be out in 2012 as well.
This is a great article:

So here's what I need clarification on.....I'm having questions on what exactly do you mean by a " Tune " ?
Just like in the OP's first statement....The mustang is a " stock " 2011 5.0
with a " Tune ." So what exactly are they considering a tune ? And what exactly do you consider a tune or tunning ? Because I think to some people a tune can be alot of different things.
Engine Tune....Exhaust Tune....ECU Tune....Body Tune....Suspension Tune.....
.
I will still hold my statement on the GTR to win the 1/4 mile against the 5.0 that is stock w/ no tune ! ( Maybe even with a tune )

Well by tune I am referring to a programmer from SCT. I guess considering it a computer reflash would be another way to say it.
The car gained 10hp to the wheels as well as 10-15 torque with a 93 octane tune. I'll check the dyno sheet later to give exact numbers if needed.
The car hasn't made any 400 horsepower pulls as of yet. I do have some parts that I will install AFTER the competition such as an axleback exhaust (not really a power adder) and I do have a nitrous kit that I hope to spray into the 10s

Nothing personal, & you sound like a nice guy BUT, by your own admission, you are producing 150hp more at the wheels(apx. 200hp @ crank). We also have, from what I'm reading, a nice fellow representing the Zs. A 2011, same weight, 30% to 40% more HP, gears, & you (an experienced driver) VS an older Z. ??????????????? I hope the Z guy has fun, & if he beats you in just one test, I'll send him $100 bucks for a modest dinner on me. Against all odds, he'll deserve more than that......
Quoted for proof of dinner offer

I'm not sure how much power he puts down though my car obviously puts down around 380 stock on most dynos so I have no problem admitting the advantage sways my way for the 1/4 mile portion. VO does have suspension mods so the rest will be interesting.
I'm not one of the members that is going to come here to get you guys upset and so on. I just plan on having a good time and I am sure he wants to do the same.

Thank you for the kind words! I don't think I'll get it after e-mailing them as I think that they really want a 370 not a 350 and it sounds like they may have already picked a candidate. The car puts down 408 whp reliably on a Mustang dyno, so it would run well enough. My only issue is that my tires are 100 UT rating and they want at least 140, but if picked I planned on swapping wheels with a buddy who runs 17 inch CE28Ns. I wanted the smaller diameter versus my 18s anyway for such an event. That and dial in a little more camber...
