Default forum wars needs a 350/370z to take on the new 5.0 stang.

https://my350z.com/forum/2009-370z/5...eason-2-a.html

they posted it in the 370z section which gets very little traffic. it looks like this will take place in Houston and will consist of a 1/4 mile run, 0-100-0, and an auto cross competition.

the stang that was selected is a 2011 5.0 that is stock, with a tune. the car posted an impressive 11.8 in the 1/4 mile (negative DA though), so is likely a low 12s car otherwise.

any locals here able to step up, have some fun and represent the forum? check out that thread for more info.

I am the owner of the 2011 mustang and have joined the site just to prove that this is a friendly event and I enjoy car enthusiast of all sorts. A little about the car and myself; the 11.88 pass was on a slick in negative DA at HRP however the rules require a street tire so I will be on stock all-season pirelli tires which aren't that great of a tire. I'll be happy if I can manage a 12.75 on them as they love to spin on the 1-2 shift and often the 2-3 shift. This is my first vehicle with a standard so I have been driving a standard for roughly 3 months now but am loving it! I'm not sure I could ever own an auto again haha.

If any questions...ask away. I'll answer up to anything and look forward to possibly meeting some of you guys.

We need Chris ( 350 ) to run.... He can probably beat him.
He sprays 75 or 100 shot to get a good low 12 sec.

Or are both cars supposed to be stock w/ street tires ?

Are you looking for a near stock 370z or a twin turbo 370z or what?

they are looking for something that will be competitive. I don't think a stock 370z or a stock 350z could be competitive with the new 5.0 at all. definitely needs a little work done to it or an amazing driver lol : )

if someones interested they need to act quickly. the original post has a deadline of today for entering (and the actual event happening a few weeks later).

I don't want to see a repeat of what happened last time =(

Out of curiousity, what final drive gears do you have? The 5.0 comes with three different final drives all the way up to 3.73's

BTW....Welcome to the site.

I'm looking forward to seeing the outcome....although I know what the results will be.

I'm curious to know what you think of the Boss Mustang ? Do you think it will be a Track superstar ?

Also....if you can, please post up some pics of your car & the engine bay as well.

Thanks

Just picked up new R compound tires, and got my pretty little harness's in too.

I'm lacking any exhaust mods at the time as I am not changing anything until after the event. I did just win an axleback exhaust on ebay that I am excited about

Street tires with atleast a 120 rating I believe is the requirement. I do have a programmer on my car which is tuned for 93 octane but 100% stock other than that

I have a programmer only. Factory EVERYTHING else

I think in the autocross event that it will be interesting as well as some other. It's all about having some fun

My 2011 has 3.73 gears from the factory and is a base gt without brembos and such.

I wish I could have afforded such a car as the Boss but I expect it to be one hell of a track car. The 5.0 itself has already AMAZED most people with the 1/4 mile times (I ran into the 11s with only a tune & traction). I think the extra power/suspension is just going to be WILD. As far as some pictures of my car, one of the track nights I had someone take quite a few pictures and my dusty motor was included. You can view the single post at http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-foru...97-post18.html

+1 on Oldschool. He's got a beast sitting in the garage. I'll text him anyway and let him know. George(TrueblueZ) would have been another good candidate, but he sold his Z. My Z has all bolt-ons and a tune, but I have no real driving experience. It would be excellent for the track application though...

Old School has taken his Z off the market as of yesterday.

You will definitely need a boosted Z to keep up with the new stangs. Moderate boost level to keep the match competitive.

11s on a stock car is ridiculous. Glad Ford has stepped up and brought back all the things that people originally loved about the mustang.
