Default New 2007 350Z

Hello,

I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Ken and I just bought the following 350Z:

https://my350z.com/forum/cars-for-sa...th-w-mods.html

I wanted to join the different events and although haven't gone through all the threads I plan to.

I did have one request. I bought the car from a state that didn't require emissions, and here in Texas I am needing to get the car inspected.

I was wondering if anyone was willing to swap exhaust for the inspection or is selling a stock exhaust system for a 2007 HR 350Z?

Thank you in advance for all your help and welcome,
Ken

Being that the car is newer than a 1996 model it uses the OBDII system for emissions checks. This means they just plug into your car and don't use an exhaust sniffer. As long as you don't have a check engine light on with any error codes then you'll be fine.

Ah, thank you for the clarification. I do have a engine cell due to the GTM test pipes.

So basically now, I need to make modifications and get an O2 antifouler piece, correct?

Thank you again for the information.

Also, anyone in East Texas?

I am guessing you meant that as a period and not a question mark.

Thanks for the information.

I can not find the DIY through my effort of searching, but I did find a thread mentioning that it might not work for the 07+ 350z?

thank you,

Welcome to the forum! and to the HR! if you do need any exhaust parts I have midpipe and muffler from an 08. It seems you're on your way around that problem tho- pm me if you are interested tho!

oh yea, sweet Z! i remember seeing this guy in the FS section, any plans? it's already pretty done up as far as bolt ons go.... you should tuck that back bumper to show off that motordyne piping!

Not any immediate plans. But hopefully some in the distant future.

Thanks for the warm welcome although might be short lived, some immediate changes due to my job situation.

Either way, always great to meet fellow enthusiasts.

no permanent fix to remove the CEL on the 07+ 350z.. but you could get antifoulers and stuff them with steel wool and reset the ECU.. but the CEL will come back on after a few hundred miles.. trust me been there done that

what i do is right before my inspection i reset my ECU.. and it stays off for about 100 miles.. giving me enough time to get my inspection done.

I just did the non fouler trick and ordering a resonator from one of the vendors on this forum to quiet down the exhaust before I take it in for an inspection.

Apparently they do not connect it to a OBD2 here in my county and others with cell lights have passed.

Again, all heresy, so we shall see when the resonator gets here. I am going to put it on, the check engine light is gone and will run by autozone to make sure the ecu is clear and in ready mode.

Thanks guys for the warm welcome.
