Driver's Edge event at TWS March 6-7th
You know, with all the Zs in Houston, I'd think more would be going to the track event. Heck.. it's only about 80 miles to TWS from Houston.
I was speaking with the event coordinator Monday and he tells me there is still space available. I hope I'm not the only Z out there (which is usually the case). At the last event there was a G35c from Austin... I think I had an off-track excursion with that car's owner in my car with me. I like to make it interesting for the passenger
Come on, ya'll.... sign up!!! Don't let me be the only Z in Texas having fun at TWS.
Cheers,
PeteH

I think Jeff Fisher (jwfisher), and maybe Bill Kim, are going to be instructing at that event. Both are great guys and really know that track. Everyone should really try to make it out there for at least one of these events.
My Z will be gone by then, but maybe whatever I replace it with will be ready.

this is a driving school type thing, yes? i need to go to one of these. lost control of my z superbowl weekend (thurs before, wet road, got cut off). i do believe i would've been able to correct myself and avoided the downtime if i had a better driving education......
nige... you are correct.
You will have an instructor all weekend. You will have 8 sessions on the track at Texas World Speedway with in-car instruction. You will also have a little "chalk-talk" in the classroom. You will also be on a slalom course to help you learn car control.
You will learn how to drive your car in a controlled environment with other students like yourself who are learning. This is not a race or timed event. By the end of the weekend you will feel much more confident behind the wheel of your car. And, you may be bitten by the track-event bug and end up coming out for all the events.
As you gain skill and experience, you are allowed to move up into higher groups. The higher groups are filled with drivers who have already been through the starter course. As you progress, you will find you are pushing your car and yourself further and further.
The way the groups work is: Green, Blue, Yellow, Red, White. Green is the starter or novice group. Blue and Yellow are two levels of intermediate, with Yellow being a little more advanced than Blue. Red is where all the crazies like me are... flat out, 10/10ths driving. White is the instructor group.
