Once he pointed out that he couldnt get me for anything, it made me feel like his entire purpose was to find some fault with anyone and ticket them.

So knowing I was squeaky clean in this instance, and on my record, I fought back and became just as big of a dick. I don't care if he didnt like it, I didnt like being harassed in the middle of the day on my day off for some pointless law thats only designed to help cops catch oncomming speeders (reflective front plates).
wow thats just how i feel

cops need to suck a fat one

i got ticketed the same way terminator described 85/50 and cop lowered the speed by 10 so i could do defensive driving.. that was the only time a cop has "done" anything for me..... but yea you are probably screwed 100/40 is a pretty big gap man.

I TOTALLY know where you are coming from. I have been hassled to. I also agree about front plates. They just help them collect the speed taxes.

But, I will say this. Venting your frustration may feel good, but you can never be SURE he can't get you on anything. Some cops can be very cretive with their ticket book. In the end it is their word versus your and for some reason they are presumed more honest than we mere mortals.

The best advice on handling cops I ever got was:
Treat the cop like he is your friend AND he has a wicked hangover.

Seems to work for me.

Josh, Sux you got pulled over for that. Is that considered a moving violation? If not I would just pay it and be done with it.

Sorry to borrow your thread but I need some advice as well. I got ticketed doing 100 on Bush. I was minding my own business doing 75-80 (other cars around me doing about the same) at night about a mile before crossing the toll plaza when I see a car aggressively coming at me from the rear like he was trying to pass me to get in my lane (toll tag only). So what am I to do? I drop it in 4th and floor it. I see him in the rear keeping pace with me for about a hundred yards until I start to pull away. That is when he turns on the lights and I start !#@$!%. I had my radar detector on but he didnt use a radar. He said he paced me at 100 and that is what is reflected on the ticket, 100 in a 40. Well first of all its 45 near the toll plaza not 40. Secondly if I am cruising 75-80 and he is gaining fast on me from the rear, I estimate he was doing at least 90. Its a pretty dirty tactic to try to provoke me but dont know if I have a leg to stand on in court. I guess it could have been worse and I could have went to jail.

Thanks,
Sean
I saw the same thing happen on 75 in Plano. Unmarked dark Chevy Impala was following a fast Toyota Celica. I was tempted to follow too but hesitated. Next thing i see X-mas lights from the Impala. Felt sorry for the Toyota guy. He probably thought some guy was just following him. I would have never guess it was a cop following him. Dam those unmarked cars!!
